This Natmap upload might hve been useful if the .map files were correct.
But not only points every file to C:\Users\Jack\Mapping\NATMAP 250K\GEOTIFF\
Also the file extensions inside the .map are useless.

Check [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] for the definitions of the AU Datums and Projections.
If you want to create proper maps you should start with the basics - that means testing the finnished product and making sure the correct Datums and Projections are used.
At this stage the above upload is useless and the files not working.

By the way: maps I checked from the Natmap collection in post#1 show they were published 2001.
Would help to actually know which maps might be up to date or at least from 2008.
Not sure about other users but a map that is over 10 years old is pretty much useless.

So what happened? Did the conversion to OZI format go wrong?

Well, if you check the files you'll notice:
    a) the filenames contain spaces - not good for CE based programs
    b) the .map files are useless as the filenames inside are incorrect
    c) the calibration is off as almost all maps I tested are not really square, they are all more or less twisted

Maybe it would be better to simply upload the PDF's?
Or is it not your release?
Not sure what you used for converting, but it went terribly wrong

First 4 lines of a corrected .map file:
OziExplorer Map Data File Version 2.2
    SE54-11_Croydon
    SE54-11_Croydon.ozf2
    1 ,Map Code,

Compare with your file and you know what I mean.

The festy maps are incorrect too, unusable due to wrong filenames inside the .map files.
Too bad, so many GB uploaded and all is useless
Would it be possible to get uploads of the original ECW files instead the "converted" files?
    Same for the Festy map?
The maps are all misaligned a bit, I assume the wrong coordinate system was used for calibration.
Especially on the Tassi maps you can see the whole map has a trapez shape.

I did some checks and in the right order:
    1. the original files were converted using worng setting, resulting and twisted images
    2. these twisted images were used to create the calibration files for OZI

This means the image appears to be almost correct in Ozi (if one bother to manually correct the .map file) but I highly doubt the calibration data will be accurate considering the faults before the Ozi files were created.
I highly recommend to remove the torrents before endless numbers of people download several GB of utterly useless content.

Since the original uploader does not bother to provide working maps I removed the useless links from the first postings.
In case you do need the 250K Natmap collection I can offer an alternative.
It is the 2006 collection, but after checking the 2008 edition I decided it is not worth the update, only a hand ful of maps have a release date after 2006.
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Unlike the version from the first posting, this works just fine!
No badly converted PDF maps, but seemless tiles allowing for proper navigation.
Due to the 2GB limit on CE systems I was not able to provide a single map.
All maps are in the unprotected OZFX3 format with proper .map files.

There is only one way: the right way!

    Well that is a shame.
I have downloaded the original files posted by Schermann.
Yes the .MAP files are faulty but a 5 minute bulk edit with EmEditor easily corrects those issues.
Accuracy??? - I have no idea but they look pretty good to me.
Test - enable a 10km Grid in OziExplorer - perfect alignment here.

Disclaimer - I have simply modified the .MAP files and merely tested a few of the 500+ maps. There are probably still errors???

Attached is my modified mapset file.

Edit: Link to original mapset - all credit to mapPirate and Schermann.

Still the problem remains that PDF maps with a legend were used to generate the files, so no seemless map navigation possible.
If single tiles are good enough...
In case you drive out of the actual map you have to manually switch to the next map to avoid driving on the borders or the text of the legend.
