Default Cannot save waypoints to SD card Magellan

    Magellan eXplorist 610 version 7.14.

Cannot save waypoints to SD card. Settings-memory shows "Use SD card for external storage" is enabled. Am able to format memory 4GB memory card in device, cannot format 16GB or 32GB memory card in device. When saving waypoint, saves to internal memory. Cannot export current waypoints to SD card, either receive "sd card unavailable" or "export cannot be started. memory on your explorist/sd card extremely low". Have tried 4 different SD cards from 2 different manufacturers.

Unit will connect via usb to computer, memory card in unit is recognized.

support.magellan.com never seems to be available. Unable to contact them through email. Toll free number provided does not offer support for the model I have. The manual for this device does not provide the correct instructions for the software version in this unit.

At one point through my struggles it almost did appear that the waypoints had exported to the memory card as there was no error. Still nothing appears on the memory card.

As of now, I am lost. I don't even know how to determine if my waypoints have made it to the SD card. I would like to format the unit and free up the internal memory however I would also like to save my waypoints.

Please, any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
