G'day Ricko, welcome to GPSPower. I see you asked about HEMA OziExplorer maps elsewhere which would probably be the ultimate solution for you if possible.

Dunno about anything else [like primo etc as far as topo maps are concerned], but you can probably use a Garmin topo successfully on GarminXT for wince. Most of those Chinese generics run WinCE 5 or 6:

You can only use images up to 2GiB though, so the full Garmin Topo V5 img is too big but the Lite version is well under 2GiB. There's other 3rd party listings in the index too: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] [post #2].

The XT software's pretty old now but kinda bulletproof too. Let's know how it goes if you try it.

Hi Neil thankyou for the welcome mate had a look at those links but they lead to a funny site that my anti virus detects and blocks and seems a bit risky, are these the only available links?

'Struth Ricko! What AV are you running coz all my 3 links are internal in this forum. It's OK mate , just pulling your leg. I guess you mean the old hoster links for the old topo maps or the XP software, sometimes old links get hijacked by ilivid crapware. What ones in particular are you having a problem with downloading? We might be able to get new uploads if users still have the files.

I am new to all this but have a similar question. I have an Iok chinese import and want to run a different menu to the firmware from the SD card so I can use a different media player, add addresss book, etc, etc. Someone suggested MioPocket but I have been unable to find a reliable download. Question is MioPocket still available or should I be looking for something else? Any help, suggestions or advice would be really welcome, but has to be in plain English as I have never played with GPS before!!! Many thanks.

hey ricko, you could try ozi explorer for your offroad program . i have used this for a few years now and works well for me. you can find all you need including maps
in the ozi explorer section of this site. there is also a hema navigator skin so it works the same and looks the same as a hema hn5 unit. you can use this on your PC
and on a wince unit ( chinese or whatever you have ) checkout their website for more info. this is all australian and made in brisbane , queensland . and used worldwide by many users.
