Please be aware that *zip.00x files are created with 7-Zip [or in the above case jZip which uses 7-Zip engine anyway]. Other well-known software may not be able to extract these files.
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
Place all 10 files together in a folder and open MMCV20a.zip.001 with latest version of 7-Zip or jZip. Each of the .00x files then will be extracted in turn to yield MMCSV20.iso which can then be burnt to disc as detailed in Post #2.

This is the Denso/VDO Dayton C2 version not only for MMC units but also usable for Mazda [dvd load only] and most late model Subaru [from ~2008] except Tribeca [all Tribeca use the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] which is also for Toyota/Lexus and earlier Subaru ~pre-2008]. It won't change the boot screen on another vehicle brand, that's not in volatile memory like the firmware, the splash/logo image is in the unit's non-vol.

Best to burn to a DVD-R at lowest possible speed. If disc is not recognised on first insertion, eject and try again a couple of times. If still not accepted by the unit re-burn using another burner and/or different software. Only use good quality media and always at the lowest possible burn speed. DVD+RW may also be suitable [only tested on C2 V19].

Great post praxos, rep+ added along with [the perhaps fleeting] Hero status for being the first to post this elusive ISO. Thx.

The data is supplied in a multi-part compressed ISO file which is meant to be unpacked before being burnt to a disc. The packed ISO has been split into 10 parts, you can extract the ISO by double-clicking on MMCV20a.zip.001 and the rest will be extracted in turn. Your default program for that will usually be 7-zip, Universal Extractor, WinZip or WinRar depending on which you have installed on your PC. Once you have the ISO file, proceed as per the advice [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

Welcome to GPSPower coughy [been on the Winnie Blues for too long have you Mate? lol!].
If you need any further help just post again, i'll print it out, wrap it around a rock an' chuck it thru your front window ....

No wuccas Champ. Just update your version of Winrar and it'll extract all zip file versions ok. EDIT: Sorry, no i'm wrong! To open that specific 7-Zip compiled zip file with the double extension ["*.zip.00x"] you must use 7-Zip itself only i think.

Please give us a report back on how it goes for you and which brand & model vehicle you have. This should suit all ~MY08 and later Subaru [tested ok in MY10 Liberty] except Tribeca which use the C1 same as Toyota, all Mazda DVD units [not SD type] and naturally all Bitsaremissins as indicated by MMC in the source file name.
