    G'day coldvenom, welcome to GPSPower.

What are you using to extract? These parts have been compressed and and split with 7-zip, use it and you shouldn't have a problem. When split, the individual files were limited by praxos to 190MB as ZippyShare only accepts files to a maximum 200MB. So there's 9 x 190MB [1,710MB] and the tenth is 69.82MB being the remainder of the total compressed size of ~1780MB.

Pull all the 10 files in one folder and then 7-Zip will extract them in turn to a single iso file.

    Thanks Neil!

Yeah in the end i figured that out. I have a mac so there's no IMGBURN available unfortunately. Do you know any good mac compatible software?

I used the default mac one and put in in the car but it said 'this is not a map dvd' or something to that regard.

    Your help is much appreciated!!!

Nah, know next to nuttin' about Mac sorry. Taken me over 20 years to finally get on top of Windows so b*gger-all chance of me getting my head around mac now. See if you can borrow a PC is my best advice unless someone else weighs in to help with something for mac.

But before you start using that mac-burnt disc as a beer coaster try the advice i gave to redras, the guy with the mazda CX-9 in the old thread: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] [post #73], it worked for him.

I think, I need to go back to school. Burn the ISO to DVD disk, but I have bloody SD card MMCS version, so I put the "DVD" onto SD card, but this is not working. Should I grub some 12 years old from the street to give me a lesson?

G'day Jeremy, welcome to GPSPower. Lol! Grabbing a 12yo off the street will probably only get you some free accommodation and lots of unwanted attention from the other 'patrons' [google the prison term 'rock spider' in the slight chance you don't get it ].

The DVD map data cannot be successfully transferred to an SD card for Bitsaremissins [or Mazdas] with that system afaik, sorry.

Thanks for the answer. I have to wait for the SD card version now.
For the 12yo. These kids are much smarter with new technology and electronics that most old farts like me.

I dunno, depends. I'm not far off 70, my 11 [almost 12yo] grandson is in awe of my IT knowledge. He thinks i'm a guru but really i only mess around with basic stuff. Doesn't mean i'm technologically smart for my generation at all [i'm not, i know others around my age who leave me gasping] and anyway that kid'll be way ahead of me in a few years because he's really interesting in it.

About the whereis SD, it's not been posted here before and all reports indicate that any attempts have failed to successfully port the map data over from a disc. I also suspect that there might be some protected section on a genuine card that locks it to a particular vehicle also making cloning/copying such cards for another vehicle very difficult. So far, no real problem to copy DVD to DVD but time will tell.

Good luck with your search and if you find the SD elsewhere please let us know about it back here.

    Hi Neil,
    Im having a little problem.
Im not sure if its a dvd problem or mmcs problem but occasionally my nav system will freeze up and say 'map disc not inserted' or something to that regard.

Any idea what i can do to fix this? or is anyone else having this problem.

    thanks.

That's probably a copying error. Think of the problem like a damaged video dvd where it will freeze or skip when it hits the scratch. In the case of a map data disc the system will spack when the laser hits corrupt or missing data which in your case must be relatively minor or the disc wouldn't have loaded at all initially. In my circle, 5 of these C2 V20 are in use on Verbatim DVD-R [4 Subi & 1 Mitsi] and none are causing problems. I did burn another, in fact it was the first one burnt, and it was just a test burn done on a crappy cheap MPM branded DVD-R. It loaded on the 3rd attempt but froze in road testing several times on a ~50 km trip. I tossed it. All 6 discs were burnt with ImgBurn in a Samsung BR/DVD burner and it wouldn't accept to burn at less than 6X.

The original discs are 'pressed' and are literally clones of each other with perfectly identical data, byte for byte. Burnt discs aren't like that and may be imperfect to the extent they are totally unreadable or just throwing minor clitches here and there. This is why it's strongly recommended to use good quality media burnt at the absolute lowest possible speed allowed by both burner and media to obtain the 'least imperfect' copy possible.

Try another brand disc or a different burner.
