    Hi all.

    hope you are all well.

This is my first post and my first time purchasing a Mercedes. So im new in the mercedes market therefore please excuse my lack of knowledge. I bought a 2010 Mercedes E350 Blue Efficiency Sport (UK) which I believe has the Command as I have navigation, DVD player and a CD Changer with Multimedia. Still trying to understand this "command" and Audio 50 thing. lol.

I was looking to update the maps and so downloaded the files for disc 1 & 2. I extracted them, then used Imgburn to burn the ISO files on to a DL DVD+ disc. The burn process (First attempt) went well however when it came to verifying, I kept getting error messages. Second attempt, I unchecked verify and burn process was successful. I inserted disc 1 and the head unit recognised it and started the update. However, at 8%, i get a message "unable to update map please contact .......(cant remember the rest). now, when i eject the dvd, the navigation does not show up anymore. It just says "Activating Navigation, please wait" and thats it.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

If I understand correctly, I have to:
    *download and unzip the files
*burn them as slow as possible (DVD1 on DVD-R DL and DVD2 on DVD-R) --> so DVD+R isn't allowed?
*insert the first DVD and follow the instructions, when it prompts to insert DVD2 I just remove the first one and replace it with the second one
    *wait untill it's finished

Are all the steps correct? If so, is there anything that could go wrong? Also, does the car have to be running or can I just turn on the COMAND?
    Hi.

I followed these steps too but cant get past 8%. It just says "unable to update maps, please refer to owner manual".

    Did you manage to update?

Yes it updated completely fine, I didn't have any complications. The update took somewhere around two to two and a half hours.

Good to hear you had no problems.

I have now wasted 8 dvds out of a 10 pack lol. They are DVD+RW(dual layer). First used ImgBurn then used PowerISO. After I burn each disc and insert it, it moves from the previous status to another then fails again. eg: 8%, then the next disc took it to 22% then failed. After that, next disc took it to 33% and gets stuck again and finally, the last disc i inserted took it to only 34%. I have given up. I have now ordered the discs from a website and hope that once I receive them,it should be ok. Currently, i have no navigation and for some weird reason, can't connect my phone via bluetooth anymore.

PS:Do you mind sharing how you did it? What program and settings you used? Were the DVDs +/_?

    Thanks

So I used a DVD+R DL and a regular DVD-R. Burned both images using IMGBurn (this took a while). After this I went to my Benz and turned it on (because I read that the battery could die while doing the update) and inserted the first DVD. I just left the car running and did some cleaning of the inside in the meanwhile. When it asked me to insert the second DVD, I did that and waited until the installation was done.
As you can see, I did nothing out of the ordinary. Maybe you guys in the UK need some other version of the update?
