    help Which Files for DNX4250BT?

    Hi,

What files do I need to get the latest working Garmin City Navigator Europe map for my device. Is it 2016 or 2017? My device is Kenwood Garmin DNX4250BT. What files do I need to upload speed camera database on my map?

G'day Jeppee, welcome to GPS Power. I've moved your first post here where it can get more targeted attention than where you made it in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Latest EU map is presently 2017.10 for both the NT and NTU versions. The index always has the latest links listed: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Perhaps your headunit uses a similar loading method described here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Generally, many Kenwood units use same files as nuvi 34x0/35x0 devices. Check using this method of looking at the GarminDevice.xml for the files used by it now: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

If your unit is capable of using Cyclops Safety Camera then look here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Other users with a DNX4350BT or similar might be able to better help you.

    Hi,

I was able to get the map working. Also the Cyclops safety cameras. The guide in Neils post was very helpful. In this device map update has to be on SD card and the POI update (Speed Camera) on USB memory.

Thing that I wasn't able to get to work was Lane assistant. Is there some special trick to make that work? There is also a huge problem... USB memory won't play media files when gpi files are in the memory... Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks for reporting back. I'll add info to that Tut thread initial post linking back here.

The terms 'Lane Assistant'/'Lane Assist' can mean two things while navigating: Most commonly, the device showing multiple lanes in the next turn box, top LH corner of screen; or the other use of 'Lane Assist' meaning 'Junction View'. LA for next turn box is embedded in the map data so will show if the device is LA capable. JCV relies on a separate file.

Try the JCV file in SD:\Garmin\JCV\*.jcv [file name '*' must be 11 characters or less] and make sure an earlier file for any version of same map series doesn't exist anywhere else i.e. SD, USB or internal memory.
