Default DNX7000EX/DNX7140 Pre-Boot and Firmware Flash

    Hi Everyone,

I got my hands on a Kenwood DNX7000EX which as far as I know is the same as the DNX7140. I inherited it from a friend who did something weird to it when trying to update the maps on the navi and now the navigation displays a black blinking screen as if it's restarting every few seconds. Connecting to the computer through the micro USB port makes the device show up for about 1 second before it reboots and disappears. This behavior loops forever.

I'm going to take the device apart and attempt to put the device into preboot mode by soldering two wires onto the navi pcb board. I've read through a few other threads as to the steps that this will involve and am confident I can do it (I'm comfortable with fixing electronics and soldering). My question is which GarminCure3 version do I use? For example, in another thread, someone was told to use "GarminCure3 for dnx7x20_dnx8x20_270 with Updater_exe" for a DNX7220 device which makes sense. I also found a thread for a DNX9260. Is there a specific version that exists for a DNX7X40?

I do have a backup of all of the original files to put back onto the device after reflashing the firmware.

    Thanks in advance!

Here you have to DNX7X40_351, inside is:
    Folder Cure - 095301000351.rgn
    Folder Original - 095301000351.rgn
    - pk_files66.zip
    - Updater.exe

After using Cure - 095301000351.rgn with Updater.exe, copy the folder Garmin from the archive pk_files66.zip back internal memory.
    Then use Original - 095301000351.rgn with Updater.exe

Thank you to both Neil and ORAK. Got the Garmin board fixed and the Kenwood reassembled successfully.
