    For full instructions please carefully read the initial post and its inked posts. Substitute the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] as the tutorial in post #1 refers to a much older version of NA but the actual method is the same. Choose additional files usually shown as suitable for 2xxx/3xxx i.e. 2xx5/7/8/9 & 3xx7/8 [not 2xx0/37x0] and specifically ASR '2' [not ASR '1'] files only if your unit supports Voice Commands.

    1. The instruction are clear in initial post and are essentially a step-by-step. Read P#27 of this thread as prominently suggested in initial post too.
    2. The links for files in initial post are to an OLD closed map thread from 2013 and of course the links are dead because there's been several more versions of NA since.
    3. Use the map and additional files from the latest NA map thread [hint: it's the very first shown in the Americas map index i linked in P#92 above].

    Check in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] for general help, the first in the list is invaluable for Garmin novices wanting to 'jargon bust' and get the basics in place: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

    That's not something i'd contemplate but it it's your decision of course. However, any map you purchase from an eBay seller for about 20 bucks will likely be one of these:

    (1) A very OLD outdated version of an 'official' map locked to a microSD card together with .unl and .gma files specifically for the card's CID. You'll get no specific instruction for loading to your Kenwood and no additional files. It's assumed that the card will be used in a Garmin device which reads map data in an file named gmapsupp.img directly from a media card's Garmin root folder [that's most common Garmin PNDs];
    or
    (2) An 'unlocked' version of the current map, which they've usually leeched from free sites and made available as a download in an email link or perhaps on a microSD card posted to you. I don't see what could you'd possibly gain by buying the same map you can freely download as you will still have to sort out the correct map and additional files loading procedure yourself.
