you can download latest maps from here

put the new map in an sd (unlocked one)renaming it gmapsupp.img and keeping the sd always inserted in your device, coz preloaded maps cant be deleted-

Hi Kenwood DNX5240BT doesnt have sd card slot can only update with a CD, pre-installed version is Europe NT 2009. What my question is whether there is a special version for Kenwoods only or anything can be used to upgrade. when i asked garmin, wot they said was only 2010.10 is released for kenwood and it has to be the one with this part number 010-11220-01.

sorry there is also a version with sd

connect usb (rear mini usb,not the usb in the front)your device to a notebook in storage mode and transfer the new unlocked img replacing the old one
or using mapsource to send the map you need to your device
upgrade your firmware and backup the old map and the unl file on your notebook before doing anything

    detailed instructions

    Hi all,

After reading several posts related to kenwood navigation update I am wondering are there any possibility to update maps on DNX 5220 or 5240 via DVD.
In user manual it is the only option for the map updates. As I have the unit which do not has SD card slot and it's hard to pull out the head unit from the car front panel, updating maps from DVD would be the best option. So is it possible to put unlocked map images into DVD and afterwards update the current maps.
I own Kenwood DNX 5220 with Garmin City Navigator Europe 2008.

    Thanx in advance!

By the way - very good site!

After few years of searching and trying, I am ready to buy DVD ($68), but I can't found store that have it.
I am located in Netherlands, but waiting for postman is not problem? Download will be perfect option.
