    Thanks.

    I have installed as follows:

    1. Put VocalizerEx folder in android root directory
    2. Put content folder under iGO
    It should look like this
    \iGO\content\voice
    \VocalizerEx
    3. Install the vocalizer_e.tts_1.0.2.3p.apk under VocalizerEx
    4. Tell android to use it:
    Settings->Language and input->Text-to-speech output
Under PREFERRED ENGINE select [x] VocalizerEx TTS then click on setting icon (at right)
Under Language select "English (United Kingdom,Serena Plus)" or "English (United Kingdom,Daniel Plus)"
Back out to PREFERRED ENGINE page and click "Listen to an example", if you hear "one, two, three" then VocalizerEx is working correctly and with correct voice.zip file, iGO will able to use it
I then set it as default TTS in the Android settings with 'Serena' as the default and I can play the sample with no issues.

I thought someone might be able to suggest why after having followed the instructions explicitly using the files downloaded from the relevant post IGO does not see the Vocalizer TTS voices as an option - even though they are installed and working in Android.

I think they do not understand how it supposed to work. Some proggy required its own speech engine for TTS; while others can use android TTS engine. VocalizerEx is for android TTS and not specifically for any NNG products (iGO/Primo/NNG). Some NNG proggy can use it, while few can not. After installing VocalizerEx via .apk and testing it, it means that android TTS engine works fine. Then you have to get your product (NNG or Sygic) to use it. The voice file *.zip is for NNG to use it. If you don't see (or can't pick) the voice inside NNG, it means the *.zip voice file is bad/wrong.

I noticed from your snapshot that there is tts_nua_v5 directory, this is for the "build-in" TTS engine for the proggy you're using. If you are using this, then you won't be able to use VocalizerEx (from android) You can use one or the other, but not both in your proggy.

Its working fine, but I dont know why the tts voices are really quiet on my radio, in comparison to none tts voices. Is there a method to make the tts voices louder ?

You mentioned the tts_nua_v5 directory which got me thinking - maybe the best thing to do would be to strip everything out and start again - so I did.
I re-downloaded the latest version complete, and did a clean install - now the Vocalizer TTS (Serena) works.

So thanks for that - appreciated.

One other question if I may - if I wanted to have 2 voices to choose from (Serena and Daniel for example) is this possible.
I ask because I notice that in the root of the Vocalizerex directory is a file (manifest.ini) which is specific to only one voice.
Can these files be combined for more than one voice.

You can have multiple voices and even multiple languages installed. The manifest file is just leftover from the original source download. It is not needed and can be safely deleted

Thanks k1w1. I'll have a go at adding the other one.
