    Finally someone ! Yes, you are right saying that nobody gives the answer to a question regarding this specific thread. And this specific part of the forum, named iGO, not Vocalizer etc.

    In the past the iGO I installed was working with any svox language I had installed, keeping the same logic : you install Virginie, Thomas etc in Svox, you put a similar TTS language in iGO and the program speaks on the tts installed in device, not iGO. And you put a same language Audio folder in iGO's root and voilá you have voice alerts too !
    Now, trying the same, folowing this guide, you get nothing but a phone who "speaks" in any language you install and iGO that at TTS is greyed out.
    And to be more specific. The only voice files I am seeing in iGO are the normal voices, the tts are not visible .Others are saying that they can select tts voices, me I can't.
    And what about the other folders in tts languages like v5auto.dll ? Do you need the folder and .dll ?

    Anyway thanks for the help, I will try also with the file you kindly offered.

    No, nothing at all voice-related except a 'working' voice*.zip file is needed in an ANDROID version of iGo Primo/Nextgen.
    Everything else will either get in the way of proper operation, or be ignored and just take up space.
    Good luck.

    Try this voice file and see if it shows up:

    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    It is an English voice file, so if your installed TTS engine voice is not English, it will sound weird, but that's not the point..the point is to see if it shows up as a voice choice.
    I am not familiar with your exact version of Android Primo you are trying to work with (I have switched to NextGen anyway), but some versions of Primo/Android require an older line within the info.ini file of the voice file to read:
    tts_engine="Android TTS"

    Which this 'Samantha' voice has.

    Newer versions can simply use:
    tts_engine="android"

    Which is now more common (and is what is in the French voice file that I posted earlier).
    If neither voice shows as available, you may have some kind of compatibility issue with the version of iGo you are using and the version of Android on your device.
    In my experience, I have known this to be the case..one version of iGo, say 9.6.29.468978 for example, works just fine on my device, but then a 'newer' version. say 9.6.29.583618, does not in one way or another. Newer does not always mean better. What is compatible within the same release (2.4.x) is more important than higher version numbers. Often specific version numbers are different only because they were customized for specific hardware which may or may not be right for you.

    Tried this version of Igo Israel on Sony xperia Z3c too. Same issue. With any language and tts voices engine installed. So I think is the program itself or the android lollipop. Tried nextgen, exits at program startup,i think is license issue, using tomtom 2015.03 maps. I will try today with here q1 maps. This is another thread already, so thanks for you help. Sorry for the rough language but nobody answered to a bloody question !!! :D

    OK, Tried "Voice_TTS-nua-eng-us-f1-lua-dri40-vssq5f22-NoSwear.zip" with "iGO_Israel_9.6.29.583618" installed on my Android 4.2.2 (chinese) device and is seems to work fine.
    Only tested in demo mode.

    People the title of this thread is "ANDROID [Guide] Text-To-Speech (TTS) in any language" and said nothing about iGO/Primo. Getting TTS work correctly first on your android device is a prerequisite for getting TTS to work in product like iGO/Primo. Once TTS works on android (regardless of whether you're running iGO/Primo or not) then you can try to get it to work inside iGO/Primo (search other threads for answer) This is an android thread so *.dll is irrelevant (it's only needed on WinCE) so no need to mentioned it.

    What question? If you got TTS to working on android (and you should if you follow instruction from post #1) then proceed to find the correct "voice file" for your iGO/Primo version (note that a voice file is not guarantee to work across any version of iGO/Primo and only certain language is available) Usually if a voice file doesn't show inside iGO/Primo, it means it's not compatible with that version of iGO/Primo. If you are able to see it but can't pick it (I never seen this situation), there might be corruption or access control problem. Post your device info (model, resolution, os, memory, etc...) so others may help. Narrow your debugging, uninstall any other TTS engine and only work with one. Not all Primo releases work with a particular voice file, so install the same version as the poster ; for example, I don't have problem with Mike's English TTS voice running on Primo24-9.6.29.483387-Israel(31Jan2015) To be safe, make sure to reboot after each install/uninstall.

    NextGen doesn't exit because of licensing issue. If you do not have correct license for something (map, poi, speedcam, building, etc...) you can see if shown under "info" section.

    I think everybody is using the data provided by poster. So I did not do anything special or kinky to change anything. And it's not working the TTS. And Nextgen exits. I do not know why, maybe the phone ? maybe the system ? maybe the World turned against me ? Asus Zenfone 2 Laser ZE500KL, Lollipop 5.02, World - Terra.
    What did you write I figured out myself, no need to waste precious time . May the force be with you.

    EDIT : I found a working kit of Android Nextgen, tts enabled , VocalizerEx. That worked without problems. I have spoken alerts, lane guidance etc.
    Thank you for your help, who wanted to help ... and yes, there is an issue, an error in this thread. I do not know what, but with theese instructions, on my device, tts not working.
