Default Problem with speedcams and userdata

    Hi everybody,

On phones - tablets with Android 4.4+ we have the common issue that apps are not allowed to write on SD card, so if we want to load many maps on iGO we have to load the maps on the SD if there is not enough space in the Internal Storage.
This works if we enter the following lines on the sys.txt:

    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
Speedcams and userdata do not work though since iGO has to convert the specific files and write on the SD, but this is not allowed by Android.
    Any tricks to overcome this?

    Thanks.

    No tricks.
Only custom ROM's, rooting and redirecting, etc...

    Thanks for the reply Boki.
I know that, the problem is that new devices cannot be rooted for obvious reasons.
    Thanks again.

You can put the speedcam and userdata folders in internal memory

    Perhaps i miss something.
Please upload your sys.txt to compare.

You don't say exactly what it is that doesn't work... Do you mean the entire programme or just the speed cameras etc?

In any case I think perhaps your sys.txt line should read android_secondary_root_path="/storage/external_SD/Addons/iGO/"

I have "content" folder in SDCard root containing folders: building, car, dem, histspeed, map, poi, and scheme
I have "iGO/content" in device root containing folders: global config, lang, skin, speedcam, userdata and voice

    In sys.txt
    [folders]
    has_secondary_root=1
android_secondary_root_path="/storage/6FB4-9A2C" (this must point to the location of your "content" folder)

This works fine for me and lets me share the SDCard content between different iGO versions on the phone.

Good luck with your efforts I hope you will be successful

In particular locations it is allowed.
I'm not sure that special location is Card\Android or Card\Android\data.
Anyway, djeman give us the trick and miochacha aplied [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] .
There is still a great advantage in using this apk, especially on Samsung devices which run Smart Manager.
Smart Manager just empty iGO folder, if you don't use iGO, it's remaind only the structure, without file.
    Smart Manager don't look into Card\Android .

    Hi guys,
Sorry for the belated reply, i was very busy these days.
Finally i got it working as follows:
I installed iGO folder on the Internal Storage without maps, pois etc. and started the app.
IGO "learnt" to write on the Internal and created file save on it.
Then i went on the sd and created the following folder:
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
and placed in it the complete content folder with maps, pois, speedcams, userdata etc.

Then i went to the sys.txt and added the following lines under [folders]:
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
Started back iGO and it worked like like a charm.

Thank you all for the assistance.
    Happy Easter everybody!!!!
