    ? What are new FDS files?

    The pack Europe HERE 2016.Q2 includes "Russia_HERE_2016.Q2_160524_(DS).fds" file.

    This is the first time I see a fds file.
    What is the purpose of this file and where to put it ?

    Yes it's a new file.
    They should be dangerous curve alerts, upcoming sharp curves etc.
    Put it in Map.

    Hmmm, might be similar to DA (Driver Alert) .fda file. But it's huge, I wonder if it contained graphics of curves or street related data. You can put it under content/map directory and check to see if it working under About->License.

    Using Nextgen Gift 9.18.27.658108.
    Looking at the "about" menu before adding the "fds" file, I see the DEM file I use, in the "Elevations" list:
    About-> Content-> Elevations

    After I move a "fds" file to the map folder. the "about" looks different:
    About-> Content-> Curve Alert
    The "Elevations" item is replaced by "Curve Alert" item, and this section contains the DEM file/s and the "fds" file in the same list, BUT the "fds" file is disabled (grayed "Version Error").
    I'm using the latest license file from 2016.Q2 thread.

    Since .fds is currently only for Russia, I would recommend testing it on Avic proggy. It's interesting that .fds is under .dem and assuming that it's not an error, I'll bet there are elevation data to tell the user the angle of road/street necessary for winter/snow condition or for Truck climbing needs.
