    Looking at the "about" menu before adding the "fds" file, I see the DEM file I use, in the "Elevations" list:
    About-> Content-> Elevations

    After I move a "fds" file to the map folder. the "about" looks different:
    About-> Content-> Curve Alert
    The "Elevations" item is replaced by "Curve Alert" item, and this section contains the DEM file/s and the "fds" file in the same list, BUT the "fds" file is disabled (grayed "Version Error").
    I'm using the latest license file from 2016.Q2 thread.
    same with me.. and when i remove them from the folder everything's same like before.. i guess new features come with a new igo version (my current is nextgen pioneer avicsync v9.18.28.624772)

    Size of all FDS files is 4.18 GB and size of all other map files together is 3.82 GB (with HNR)
    I wouldn't be surprised if this will be new replacement for all of them or "one country - one file" system.
    In any case it seems to be multi-function file.

    Just guessing

    Hi;

    About fds files, when you go to "About" ; "Content" ; "Alarm turn" ; we see that there is the dem file for me version ( Europe_CGIAR_Premium_2006.06_160208 ) is seen dimmed the message " Version Error " . These files are 160,614 FDS Version ; is it possible that the version of DEM and FDS files match is being release all 160,614 both for these files to be active ?
    Since they do not appear in red, it would mean that this is not a license problem. What do you think?

    En Français:
    Bonsoir;

    A propos des fichiers fds, lorsque l'on va dans "A propos"; "contenu"; "Alerte tournant"; on voit qu'il y a le fichier dem pour moi la version (Europe_CGIAR_Premium_2006.06_160208) on aperçoit en grisé le message "Erreur de version". Ces fichiers FDS sont en version 160614; est-il possible que la version des fichiers DEM et FDS doivent correspondre est être en version 160614 tout les deux pour que ces fichiers soient actifs?
    Comme ils n'apparaissent pas en rouge, cela voudrait dire que ce n'est pas un problème de license. Qu'en pensez vous?

    If it's happened, that will be the official death of Primo.

    Or the elevation data is at a finer granularity (which required more space) than that of .dem which is mainly used for "eye-candy" while .fds data have real application uses.

    I think these FDS files are the new iGO file format for maps.

    I quote 363.here.com - blog section:

    article: ADAS features and why HERE maps are the next-gen car sensors
    ADAS stands for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. The term covers a multitude of modern aids for drivers.
    article: How map-based ADAS can make you a better driver
    As our vehicles move steadily along the path towards automation, more and more systems in your car will start to offer assistance. We think that the most exciting of these will leverage high-definition maps to supply geographical intelligence.

    The size diferrence might be in information that those articles are refering.

    I put the file in map folder and I can see this file in Contents of Nextgen (basarsoft) as Curve Alert, but license is needed.

    In a nutshell....at the moment WE DO NOT NEED THOSE FDS files?

    PRIMO cannot use it?
    NEXTGEN can?

    Has anybody tried this FDS in real time? How does it work Any screenshots?
