    To JmaCWQ :
    Collapse and expand doesnt make difference.
    If I start navigation software it just asks for navigation path same as pressing all these collided icons
    Collapsing, showing calendar, changing wallpaper didn't help either
    Tapping quickly/holding doesn't help
    I haven't tried another shell. I spent some time researching them but still couldnt figure out how to install one, maybe you could give me some hints installing new shell ?

    And I can't contact the seller anymore

    To zervdim :
    At the back of GPS there is one small button written "Reset" and a small hole near reset button. Pressing reset button does what it says but it didn't fix icons and sticking my needle to the hole near reset didn't do anything.
    I downloaded your provided Programs, copied Reset.exe to my device but I don't know how to run it...
    I went to language settings and changed language but it didn't fix icons. I don't know how to install new language or new theme in WinCE.
    Ty for the tips for running igo.exe it will definitely help me after I get past this icons bug.

    Guys I guess if you could teach me how to install new shell that should fix my problem. Thanks for your time

    What you write it's impossible, probably you don't press reset button!
    Try to push inside hole with a tooth-pick! Press a tooth-pick and you must see device to do hard reset!

    You can run FileManager also , if you give a path like you do with Navi path

    BTW if you fix to run Navi.....why it's big deal for you shell of your device?
    PNA is used such as Navi...what else?

    As a last resort you can try to "force" re-installation of the main menu only (not the ROM itself). I have exactly the same menu on my WayteQ x985BT. The only difference is that my device has also bluetooth so there is also a BT icon and off course all the missing icons that are vanished from your shell. But before you try, check what is your device resolution! Files below are for 800x480, so if you have 480x272 than don't even try to update!

    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    unrar and copy all 3 files from the YFUpdate folder to an empty SD card. Reset. If the installation won't trigger on the boot process, than most likely you have very different boot loader on your device, so my solution won't work.

    YFAPP.WZP (menu)
    YFORMAT.FMT (script for deleting current menu before the installation of the new one)
    YFUpdate.exe (update app)

    The shell I use to get around Navig[8]r devices being locked doesn't get installed, it just has to be copied to the device with the same folder and file structure as the original.
    Navig[8]r devices by default run their Nav software from a folder named MobileNavigator and the executable of the Nav software inside that folder is MobileNavigator.exe.
    So to make the shell starts instead of the Nav software, I rename the shell's folder to MobileNavigator and make sure the executable that launches the shell is inside the MobileNavigator folder and it's renamed to MobileNavigator.exe.
    When the Nav icon is pressed, the locked device looks for the executable MobileNavigator.exe inside the folder MobileNavigator, finds it and runs it, then the shell opens.

    The shell I use is configurable by changing an .ini file, the path to the Nav software can be set in this .ini file, as well as the location on the screen of the icon that starts it, which icon to use, the background image displayed when the shell runs & you can add more icons to start different Nav programs if you so desire.
    Using the shell on a Navig[8]r locked device I have iGO8, iGO Primo, OziExplorerCE & Garmin-XT to choose from.
    It also comes with a file viewer that you can browse the device with, registry editor, task manager etc..
    I have no idea who made it, it came with a now long-dead Chinese MediaTek device I got a few years ago that had iGO8 & OziExplorerCE on it.
    I liked it so I kept a copy of it, modded it's .ini configuration, backgrounds & icons to suit my needs & been using it ever since.

    If none of the other suggestions above work perhaps running a shell when you tap that Nav icon would be one of the easiest ways to get your device launching Nav software again.
    You'd still have that icon issue but it probably wouldn't affect anything unless you needed to actually use a function of one of those icons & then there might be a way around that by using the shell to browse the device & starting whatever is needed from inside CE itself.....maybe.....lol, different devices behave in different ways depending on what's been done to the ROM by the people that put it together.

    You mention in the first post you changed the Navi path, are you able to set that path or doesn't it work when you try?
    As it keeps asking to be set again when you tap the Nav icon it's possibly reverted back to it's default?
    Or maybe the change isn't sticking for some reason if you're still able to do the steps that normally changes it?

    Here's a shell if you want to try it, there's 2 inside the RAR file, one for 800x480 & one for 480x272.
    Editing these shells is easy, the images are all standard .bmp's & one .ico file, they are not the compressed iGO bmp format.
    I've just stayed with .bmp format but I imagine it's possible to use .png or .jpg etc. provided the correct changes were made to the main.ini file the shell reads from.
    Though I haven't tested that so it's possible only .bmp's will work.

    To edit the relevant .ini file look inside the folder Main for the file main.ini.
    Don't edit the SysInfoSettings.ini in the main folder unless you want to change the path to where the main.ini file is located.

    An entry to start Nav software from inside that main.ini file looks like this:

    BITMAPBUTTON
    x = 0
    y = 100
    Command = \SDMMC\iGO-Primo\iGO-Primo.exe
    BitmapNormal = ..\Icons\iGO-Primo.bmp
    BitmapPushed = ..\Icons\iGO-Primo-pushed.bmp

    The breakdown of that is:
    x= number of pixels from left the icon displays at.
    y= number of pixels from top the icon displays at.
    Command = \SDMMC\iGO-Primo\iGO-Primo.exe is the path to the executable that starts the Nav software.
    BitmapNormal = ..\Icons\iGO-Primo.bmp is the name of the icon used that you push to start the desired software.
    BitmapPushed = ..\Icons\iGO-Primo-pushed.bmp is the name of the icon used that appears when the icon is pushed, I've simply made them in inverted colours of the originals so they change to the inverted colour for an instant when the icon is pushed, but they can be made to something else if desired, if you don't want to display the 'pushed' effect just rename the BitmapPushed entry to the same as the BitmapNormal entry.
    In that example above the icon is set to display on the very left hand edge of the screen 100 pixels down from the top.
    The 2 dots .. before the \ in the icon paths must stay there.

    The .exe that starts the shell is called Launch.exe, so set the Navi path to that.
    If you have a locked device or for some reason are unable to set the Navi path on your device rename the shell-800x480 or shell-480x272 folders and the Launch.exe for the relevant resolution to what your device has already, for example make the folder MobileNavigator & rename Launch.exe to MobileNavigator.exe.
    That varies with different devices but it's usually not too hard to figure out what it should be called.

    I've included an extra background or two in each but more can be easily added, so long as the resolution is correct and it's named correctly to match the entry in the main.ini file.
    Same with adding or changing the icons, so long as they're named to what matches the main.ini file they should work ok.

    @JmaCWQ

    No hard feelings bro, but I think you are missing a point here. As you can see from the first post, he doesn't have "navigation path" icon, therefore he cannot set what to launch when pressing NAVI icon. If he could do that, than he wouldn't have a problem and he surely won't need another shell. Also, these kind of devices (based on yfapp.wzp shell ) doesn't show the partition where the main shell is located, therefore he cannot change anything when connecting device via USB. He can see device only as "mass storage" without any system files which are on the system partition. So if I summarize, even if he copy your shell files to device internal storage it won't have any effect if he cannot set path to Launch.exe. And I'm 100% sure that device doesn't search navigation by (any) default name like "Mobilenavigator\Mobilenavigator.exe" but only the way it is set trough "navigation path" and these values are written in device registry once the path is set.

    So I think he's only solution is to inject compatible shell which is compressed as yfapp.wzp and it can be triggered on the boot process. The best and the most reliable solution would be off course with the original ROM, but to find the correct one is like searching the needle in haystack..

    Hello Janch,

    Yes I did miss the point somewhat, no offence taken & thanks for the input.
    I understand now that he cannot set the path but wasn't 100% sure earlier so I specifically asked, but he hasn't been back on since then.
    It's been quite a while since I've seen one of those 'set the path' messages and I couldn't remember if it gave the option to set the path from the message or it had to be done via the icon.

    Hojitsu changed the navpath to the Primo software, got it running then everything went haywire.
    Now if he hits the nav startup icon it asks for the nav path to be set, and because it's doing that I'm thinking it might have reverted back to the default settings.
    If (and only if it's reverted back to default settings) possibly if he gets the folder and file structure the same as the device's default, Primo might launch again.
    If Primo is now on an SD card & the default software was on the Flash drive then Primo or a shell if he chooses to use one will have to be on the Flash drive with the same folder/file structure as the device originally came with.

    The MobileNavigator I used was just an example with regards to the default settings of my Navig[8]r devices, I know the device he has won't search for that, but if it's reverted back to it's default state it'll be searching for something (whatever the default was) when the nav icon is pressed, and if he can get the name of the folder & .exe right it should launch Primo or a shell if he so chooses.
    I also agree with you the best way would be to get a copy of the original ROM but as you say that's not as easy as it sounds

    Hey guys,
    thanks for your replies !
    I have found a fix to run programs. Favourites represents program manager that I showed in the picture. It can search for exe in internal/sd and run it.
    I have tried zervdim's programs and most of them runs. I have pictured one program called TotalCommander it looks really usefull and should allow me to install new shell :?
    I installed [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] navigation program
    but the problem is it LAGS SO MUCH and freezes. After like 5 freezes I finally got to the navigation menu and it triggered memory error that I showed in the picture. In fact device doesn't only lag in GPS program, it lags at main menu
    as well. It was laggy before too, but now it literally freezes. What I could do about this? Or just my device sucks too much ?

    That device might not have enough RAM to run Primo properly, how much does it have?
    Did it come with Primo when you got it or was it iGO8?
    Never heard of that Favourites program manager, where it come from?
