    Default zumo 340lm bricked

    Hi

I have a garmin zumo 340lm which I recently updated using the garmin webupdater, all seemed well.
I then copied a GPX file into the gpx folder on the device, from this point on the unit has become a proverbial brick.
In detail: the unit has the splash screen showing,
holding the power button down cycles the power,
Power button and lower right screen will eventually cause a flash of white screen then retuns to the splash screen
Power button and other 3 corners of the screen no apparent effect
The device is not visible to my windows pc or linux pc
I have latest USB drivers from garmin
    G7towin unable to see device
Not sure if I have ever managed preboot

    Unit details

    Garmin Zumo 340LM
    HWID ?? Firmware version ??

Can anyone offer any hope or is this something for the next house build?

    Richard

    Hi Man
I had exactly the same. It's because of the last update. It bricked your device. Looks like a faulty update. Some devices got bricked. I brought it back to Garmin. Since it has no warranty they offered me a refurbished device for 108,- 💶.
I a an technician, and didn't find a way to fastboot the device. The connection will be lost after a few seconds.
You could use solder points, and try to reflash. But if the seal is broken, they don't exchange it for a refurbished one.
    Good luck
