Sorry if this is in the wrong section, I tried to do a search but couldn't find anything.
My Kia factory GPS is running iGo 8.5.11 but there aren't any map updates and the ones in the past have been severely out of date and missing features such as TTS. The unit has a MIPS processor which I believe isn't very popular. I'm trying to install my own party GPS software and map.
Does anyone have an Australian iGo software and maps which can run on MIPS ?
Thanks for all the help !
Maps don't have any relationship with the release of processors. Maps works with software that uses them, and they are the same for any kind of iGO (primo/NG @ Win/Android/IOS).
I think there are no better software for navigation then iGO, but you can try others. Maybe some other have better coverage for Australia.

You have to extract whole package, folder structure must be preserved. In that folders, put files that belong to them and you don't have them in a software package (maps, pois, speedcams...). It is common rule for every kind of software. Read this topic, there are also graphic explanations:

And your unit is....? And your software version is...?
Anyway, first try to fix values for gps port and baud rate in sys.txt. For example:
Igo8 program versions have built in option for scanning for this ports.
Menu > Settings > GPS (second screen) > untick "GPS enabled" > then it shows "autodetect" button, click on it
