    help Generic GPS with CE6

Hi all. I've joined in the hope that you guys can help me out. I've got a cheapy Ebay 5" GPS that I bought for a Scotland trip &, whilst it navigates just fine, it tells me about some imaginary speed cameras every 2 minutes or so in what sounds like an eastern European language, whilst navigating me in English. If I hear "erski-bob" one more time I may scream!

The device is running Windows CE 6 and has 256mb of RAM. It's currently got iGo 8 on it, which is a program I really like, but I'm not brand loyal so would consider anything else to load on it except for co-Pilot, as I have to suffer that appalling excuse for GPS 12 hours a day at work!

I was wondering if a clean install might improve things? If so, can anyone talk me through it, please?

You should install new software on an external sd card. You can try igo primo or nextgen with here 2015-q2 maps. Another good alternative is navigon with freshmaps. Or do as I did and put all 3 on one sd and try all.

Thanks for the reply. Is there a "how to" guide I can follow? I'm not computer illiterate but am no coding expert either!

I sent you a pm with some links. Download them, unpack. Move onto a formatted sd card. Insert sd card into gps, and you'll have an icon go the navi software path. Change it to sdmmc/mobilenavigator/mobilenavigator.exe and save

Start your navigation icon and nextgen will be working. Don't like it, simply change the path to previous value residentflash/igo8/igo8.exe

Now you can add more content - map poi etc
