I got Nextgen running on an old chinese gps that was preloaded IGO8 on Wince 6.0. It has 128MB and 272px res. I loaded Nextgen with all Europe maps and all extras like terrain maps, buildings, and everything else really. It's really slow and unsuable with Nextgen. Primo 2.0 on the other hands runs well "fully loaded" , and has a better UI design with a moderrn skin. So my vote would be for Primo regardless if one has newer or older hardware.

Why didn't IGO look at Primo and improve certain bits? Instead they had to reinvent the wheel and f*** everything up. Just like Apple did with Final Cut X, Digg.com did with V4 (which made everyone switch to reddit.com), Microsoft with the crappy Metro only interface in Windows 8 etc etc.

Oh and I love IGO, with the detailed maps one can load on the dedicated devices , one can avoid a specific toll roads and it will find the best way around in that *specific* area (adding say 5min driving time but saves you 20usd in toll), instead of doing a generic rerouting. IGO on my iphone, on the other hand, just finds a whole other/totally different route and might introduce several other toll roads instead.

Igo Primo is still the king.

I've installed Nextgen 2 times (1 day ago and 1 year ago) to see what is improved...Disappointed again... The interface on nextgen is organised but not ergonomic, too small not easy to tap on buttons like we do on primo.... Primo does it's job, navigation with good graphics, clear interface. Nextgen does not offer a big deal over primo. With Primo we have a strong navigation software with skins... Maybe Nextgen will get better soon but i'll wait for it...

I completely agree - it seems to me that Nextgen is designed more for phones than GPS devices and Car head-units. On the WinCE devices I've tried it on, it just doesn't perform very well - or look as nice as Primo.

If you compare apple to apple, taking iGO/Primo or NextGen via it's ORIGINAL skin, NextGen wins hand down. "Out of the box", NextGen has a cleaner more professional looks. The strong point with iGO/Primo is its maturity of skins from dimKa(Wa) while NextGen skins development is still young. NextGen vector graphic capability is light years ahead of iGO/Primo bitmap especially in high resolution! iGO/Primo still got slight edge in licensing cracked; but recent cracked for NextGen Basarsoft, it's no longer a concerned.

Only i have to say that i see the members here have increase the percentage difference for that best Skins is the Primo.
Not long time ago the difference was 59% primo against 41% nextgen ..
Today is 61.7% primo against 38.3% Nextgen and the difference increases in favor of Primo.
Everyone of us can say that the Primo or Nextgen better. Importance however is what people clearly that prefer Primo.
Also for this reason was this poll.
I do not know what program would be best for the people but I know very well what I personally believe.
We are creators of Skins and love our creations as our spiritual children. Therefore our opinion is not objective.
Thus it is best to accept the opinion of many.

    Best Regards

    "Nextgen" is very unstable. I think it's like the previous version of Igo Primo; -----> amigo?;
Amigo--->Maybe some people don't know the existence of this version.

Primo, no doubt for me. I need reliable navigation in the first place, GUI is not so important for me. From my point of view NextGen is like Amigo comparing to iGO8...

I think that the preference has a lot to do with what device someone is using too. It would be interesting to see the results of this poll if there were a separate pool for WinCE and Android. I have a feeling that most Android users prefer NextGen and most WinCE users prefer Primo.

Android devices are typically faster and higher resolution than WinCE devices - which probably make NextGen a lot better. On the WinCE devices I've tried NextGen on, it performed poorly and the interface just didn't fit well with the device (such as car 2DIN head-units).

NextGen is a not even a real option for me on my WinCE 5.0 800x480 2DIN car head-unit - the hotspots are much smaller than they are in Primo and the performance is horrible. If I used iGo on an Android phone, maybe NextGen would work better - but I don't. :-)

I've been using iGO Primo on my Galaxy Note 2 for several years now, I usually keep it stock, with no modifications.
Tried yesterday Nextgen and removed it after 15 minutes of playing with it.

My Note 2 is running Android 4.4.2 and iGO Primo is working perfectly.
When I end up changing my phone for something newer I really hope I won't have to stop using Primo, Nextgen is a no go for me.
