Default Alpine INE W920R problem - PLEASE HELP

Map update was interrupted by CANCEL on my INE W920R. Ever since, the navigation app does not start up. I get to the language selection screen, select the language, blue screen says “LanguageReady”, then black screen, blue again, and restarts… language selection again.

I have attempted to upgrade to the latest navigation system software by installing AU_INE-W92xR_W977BT_30062014.zip from the Alpine website.
The upgrade seemed to be successful, however, the symptom persists, I cannot get beyond the language selection screen.

Please let me know what I should do to fix this problem.

Your program is genuine. What does Alpine have to say about it? Did you ask them?

I cannot do that before Monday, and my holiday starts on Tuesday... And I am afraid they will say I should give them the device for inspection, which would mean I have to completely disassemble the car dashboard again... :-( So I was hoping for a solution I can do myself.

In the meantime I have accesses win ce and found a file named crash.txt

    It contains:

    Exception: 0xc0000005
    At address: 0x00416b5c
    Access violation reading address: 0x00000000
    0x00416b5c (A)

WinCE CallStack snapshot (function names unknown - map file \FlashDrive\Alpine\AlpineNavi.map not found):

Can someone say what this might mean?

I have tried to rename the SAVE folder, it did not help.

    Hello,

I had the case with W910R following an upgrade, when collecting data on the device and then let the SD card to the radio.
New use updates Alpine, before you had to update and remove the SD card for use.
Result, return to after-sale warranty, no way to restart iGO.
They changed an electronic card inside information after!
The original Alpine software is sensitive to the slightest mishandling!
    Not easy to repair yourself.

Looks like I have finally fixed the problem.

Booting into Win CE and manually copying the entire contents folder to the device, as downloaded from naviextras.com, helped.

I managed to make a mess of my Alpine W920R. Deleted a file and that was the end of that. Talked to Alpine in Uk and they emailed me the files to put it all back together again. The software is sound but it does not like being played with. You can download from this site the Autoexec file that lets you into the Alpine Sat Nav by putting the files on an SD Card and starting your sat nav. It will go to the WinCE screen. You need something to touch the small screen buttons with so a tooth pick or similar ( Please not a pen ). Most of whats on the screen should make sense. If it doesn't you should not really be playing around. Any files you want to copy into the sat nav should be on your SD card as you cannot take it out and put another one in. If you plan what you are going to do ie. Add new POI's and Icons then it is better to put the icons in one directory on your SD Card and the Kml files in another directory. You can also add the Speed Camera txt file to a separate directory as well.

One you are in WinCE Explorer you can move round the various directories on the FLASHDRIVE and the SSMDD Drive. Flashdrive has all the Alpine program files on it. If you navigate through Alpine - Content - Userdata - POI you can add your Kml files here. Look for Alpine - Content - Userdata - Usericons and put your bmp files here.
A word of warning. Be careful with the Bitmap files. 22x22 works ok but if you use anything that has been converted from something else the Alpine will throw a wobbler when it tries to load it. You can design your own bitmap files using paint or another program. I had some png files which I converted online to bmp and they add alsorts of things to the file like web names and other junk. It's this that upsets the sat nav. Alpine - Content - Speedcamera is where you put your Speed Camera txt file. Delete all that's in the folder and just add the single file. The Alpine will build the other files for you. If you don't remove the other files it just adds the new information to what's already in there.
