    help Primo 2.4 sound

    Good Evening,

I hope that someone can point a 70 year old [me] in the appropriate direction.

I have successfully installed Primo 2.4 into my Chinese 2 din WinCE 6 unit and it shows navigation OK, but there are a couple of issues with which I hope to gain enlightenment, so:

    1. The Sounds emanating from the speakers appear [initially] to be *way* too loud. It's as if there is a wide open AGC [AVC] rail which only attenuates the sound after a couple of seconds of "flat out" sound levels. Very distracting when it happens and made me jump because it was so loud.

    2. I have inadvertantly set my home destination wrongly. Home shows as my son's address some 600 miles away. I am looking to "clear" both favourites and Home Location, but, on looking at the contents of the SD Card on my Laptop, I can find nothing which resembles the addresses/post codes.

I would happily "reset to factory" ie blank if I could find the option. Please don't ask me to reinstall as I only backed up the card after my initial [ie with those 2 addresses] play around - I know, I know . I have tried to find another download [UK & Irl] to load on my system with little [no] success. Any help gratefully accepted. Regards.

It is hard to guess, what iGO compilation you have installed on your device, what skins are there, etc. Different skins have these controls on different places. However, to give you a straightforward solution and if you don't mind to loose all your iGO settings (ie. reset iGO to default), you can erase iGO config files. To do so, locate your iGO directory on your memory card and delete Save folder. This will cause that after new iGO start this folder will be re-created, you will be prompted to define your language, voice and other custom settings, etc. again, like at the beginning and all iGO settings will reset to their defaults. With a bit of luck, also the sound level will get fixed.

As I said, this seems to be quite radical solution, but in your case this is the most straightforward.

Thank you very much for your reply and the information contained therein. I will delete that folder as I have no "sensible" data stored within the app, so no real loss there. Thanks again, I am grateful that I may be able to sort it. Regards.
