IGO Primo Can external GPS be used with Primo

    Hi All,

My brother has a problem. I have got Igo primo working on my Samsung Tab and he would like it working on his Android Tab (generic Android Tab). The only problem is his tablet doesnt have a GPS incorporated. He does have a bluetooth gps which used to be used on a Dell PDA running Tomtom. Is it possible somehow to get Igo primo working with this external bluetooth and if so, can someone explain as I do not have a clue how to do this. I have got the bluetooth gps working on his tab with a program called ExtGPS which is meant to share the nmea data with other programs but interfacing primo with it Im lost....... Is it a case of adding some lines to primo sys? if so, what?

Ext GPS worked for me on an iPad 1. using an coPilot bluetooth gps sender. Cost $12 off an UK Ebay site 1 year ago.
Ill recharge it and see if I can find the settings. Dont remember adding lines unless it was for the port and baud in sys.txt.
Dont hold yourbreath though...havnt used it for a while as I put iGO world (Primo) on my iPhone 4s after jailbreaking it.

Ok..... thanks for the heads up and info.

If we cannot get it going he will end up having it put on his Samsung note2 but it is always nice having a big screen hence the reason he wants it on his tablet.

What did you install on your brother's tablet? Because roqyBT4 is for iOS (according to their site) and it has .deb extension. My friend has similar problem so I gave him my Bluemax BT GPS receiver but tablet won't connect to it.

From roqyBT4 1.3.0, you can also use a third party phone like android or symbian with a specific app to turn it into an external bluetooth GPS !! roqyBT4 is now compatible with this configuration.
