    nextgen Branding Europe v. 2.4 NextGen edition

    Branding Europe v. 2.4 NextGen edition by garigor

    Before starting you have to remove poi_visiblities file from the save folder.
    Unrar and copy your resolution branding.zip to the iGO program root.
    Then copy in the sys.txt:
    [OTHER]
    discard_save=userdata:poi_visiblities.txt

    In order to remove from the map icon with three dots
    [poi]
    use_multi_poi_icon = 0

    You can slightly increase the size of icons [map]
    poi_w = 56;
    poi_h = 79
    ( default values are 46x66)

    Restart iGO.

    Default hdpi, xhdpi, etc explaination

    @ catymag,
    Thank you so much for the post!

    Though, it has been explained earlier by many masters of this forum, but posting it again for the reference.

    For those, who does not know the meaning/resolution of hdpi, xhdpi, etc. terms. Here is the explanation:

    A set of six generalized densities:
    1] ldpi (low) ~120dpi
    2] mdpi (medium) ~160dpi
    3] hdpi (high) ~240dpi
    4] xhdpi (extra-high) ~320dpi
    5] xxhdpi (extra-extra-high) ~480dpi
    6] xxxhdpi (extra-extra-extra-high) ~640dpi

    So, chose wisely as per your device.

    Regards
    Dinesh

    Why Igo has not remembered settings, I always have to choose which POI to display.
    Displays only basic 4 or 5 Poi's
    How to solve this?

    Hi, friends.

    I love this branding, thanks to its author for creating and sharing it. It allows me to see thousands of POI icons and makes iGO more colorful. However, as others have commented before, I also have the same problem. Pois's settings are not saved. Yes, I have seen that there is a solution, but I don't like this solution. I will try to explain myself why, with the help of pictures, because my English is not very good. Sorry for this. And also because this post is a bit long, but it is necessary to explain it well. And, sorry, I do not see how to put spoilers for the images.

    If I put this in sys.txt: [Other] Discard_save = userdata: poi_visiblities.txt

    Then iGO reads the poi_visiblities.txt file inside branding.zip, in the path \ui_nextgen\ defaults. The company logos (petrol stations, for example) are displayed on the screen. But settings are not saved. You can make changes to the POIs that you want to see and those that do not. But when you exit and go back to iGO, the settings have not been saved.

    Better an image. Icons and poi_visiblities.txt inside branding.zip:

    Spoiler: too large pic 1
    iconos ok

    As you can see, the structure of the poi_visiblities.txt file in branding.zip is as follows:

    |root
    Automotive Dealer BMW | automotive.dealer.bmw | 30000
    Petrol_Station Repsol | petrol_station.repsol | 30000
    Petrol_Station Meroil | petrol_station.meroil | 30000
    Petrol_Station Bp | petrol_station.bp | 30000
    .
    .

    Now, if I put this in sys.txt (commented line with ";"): [Other] ;Discard_save = userdata: poi_visiblities.txt

    Then IGO creates a poi_visiblities.txt file in the iGO_NextGen/save/profiles/01 path and no longer reads the data from branding.zip. The changes that the user does, are saved in this new file. But, then, corporate logos are not displayed on the screen. You can only see an anodyne generic icon. Look at the image. Icons and poi_visiblities.txt on iGO_NextGen/save/profiles/01 path:

    Spoiler: too large pic 2
    iconos nok

    And, as you can see, the file poi_visiblities.txt that was created in iGO_NextGen/save/profiles/01 has a different structure. It begins with |r (instead of |root) and the POI's lines are not complete. In this way, the corporate logo is never displayed.

    |r
    Automotive Dealer BMW || 30000
    Petrol_Station Repsol || 5000
    Petrol_Station Meroil || 30000
    Petrol_Station Bp || 30000
    .
    .

    And finally, say that I have done many tests on different devices (smartphones, tablets) with Android Jelly Bean, KitKat, and Lollipop. And with different versions of NextGen: AvicSync, Gift, Basarsoft. In all cases the problem repeats itself as I have explained before.

    But, this is the best. In my Samsung Note 4 with MarshMallow 6.0.1 .... Everything works 100% OK !!!. Even with different versions of iGO (AvicSync, Gift ...). The file poi_visiblities.txt that was created in iGO_NextGen/save/profiles/01 has a identical structure as the poi_visiblities.txt inside branding.zip. All changes are saved and all company's logos are displayed on the screen, instead of the anodyne generic icons.

    So there is a logical conclusion: There is a programming bug that causes iGO NextGen POIs settings to be saved correctly in MarshMallow (when in [other] we put ;discard_save = userdata: poi_visiblities.txt) but it does not work in previous versions of Android.

    Unfortunately, I use iGO NextGen on a Chinese tablet (with Android JB 4.2) in my car and I can't upgrade to MarshMallow. Is it possible for some forum buddy to know how to fix this so that everything works well in versions prior to MM?

    Thank you, greetings to all.

    I think I found the solution myself.

    The branding of Rafael Santos, here:

    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    has pointed me towards the solution. More information soon, as long as I am absolutely sure it works.
