Pioneer Avic NextGen version works great with online TMC (wifi) for NA. Pretty cool.

Yeah, I wish my WinCE head-unit supported wi-fi, but sadly it does not. Would be so nice to have access to TMC for traffic info. I've actually tuned the Primo Historical Traffic off - it caused strange routes most of the time - I get better routing (iGo8-like) without Historical Traffic enabled...

Thanks to the uploaders for sharing. Does anyone have the licenses to fully unlock these maps with NextGen?

The licenses from post #1 does not unlock the :
    Junction View NG (FJW)
    Address Points (FPA)
    Lorry restrictions (FTR)
Preprocessed Road Network (Green mode is unavailable)
    everything related to Mexico

    Thanks for sharing!

One benefit of using a phone with cell and/or wifi access, TMC is easy and free I wonder if Eye-Fi (SD card with wifi capability) would work in WinCE PND. Historial traffic should get better the more you use it since it collect data from your driving, no?

That is a great question - I honestly don't fully understand how "Historical traffic" works. Does it just use the traffic info provided in the map historical traffic files or does it actually "learn" traffic patterns as you drive? I assumed it was just using the map historical traffic files and that the info was "static' - buy maybe I'm wrong...

    Anyone know for sure?

Regarding the Eye-fi sd-card/wifi adapter, I'm assuming that the WinCE device would still need some drivers to use the wifi built into the SD card - but again, that is an assumption. I will investigate that a little more - thanks for mentioning it!

I'm guessing that historical data are collected and sent to server (if allowed) to be processed. I would think map maker would use that data (to certain extend) to give "better routing." I think historical data can also be saved locally and used. This mean that you will have to drive with it activated so it would record the data needed later. I would be very surprised if it's just only static data based on .hnr Wouldn't do any good if construction is causing traffic but would not be there forever. The last time I look at historical routing, it's based on day of the week and time of the day. But I didn't use it enough to recognized whether it changes over time.
