    Hi guys,

Sorry in advance for my ignorance. What is the difference between the TomTom and Navteq maps? I am currently using Navteq Europe Q4 2014 maps with Igo Primo, is it worth updating to these 2015 TomTom maps? Do they have 3d buildings and POI's etc?

    Thank you

I dont know why but tomtom said to be better for european travels, especially for western europe, and navteq said to be better for truck drivers. But I found navteq also as good as tomtom, furthermore, it is more detailed (in terms of sideroads and dirtroads even is small villages, and it shows traffic signs( fda-s) more frequently then tomtom). But it's up to you to decide which is more reliable in your travels. Make a try, you can turn back to navteq if you don't like tomtom.

Depends on location and on what you like.
I can show you plenty of streets TomTom knows for years that HERE never heard of. TomTom has more and more accurate speed limits. As for traffic signs, I keep my eyes on the road

TomTom has its own POI files and building files.
When not shared (only a few building files for some countries shared so far) you can easily use Navteq/HERE files. No problem there.

Where I live, few years ago, TomTom had much better coverage, but since then HERE (Navteq) improved so much that now have much better coverage.
I changed to HERE when Primo was not able to find addresses in major cities with TomTom maps, and with HERE maps it could.
One could never tell which maps are better unless they are compared for regions of interest, and it could vary from place to place.
That's why we have map changers: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    Maybe we should have voting?
