Can you post directories/files listing on SD card? It's possible that the Ferrari edition only works for certain device, look for another release that support your resolution and OS version.

Update: I just noticed that Ferrari is NextGen, so you don't want that. And since the old version is 8.3.5 you might want to try [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
But I think upgrading original proggy is not necessary (unless it's not cracked and can't use new map) I would just put new map/poi/building under content folder and see if it works. BTW, NNG is maker of iGO/Primo/NextGen and pdamill is what they where initially Why are you using this map when this one is newer [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    I agree.
Obviously the SD card isn't locked to the contents.
OK, I'll try new maps keep original proggy and see what happens.

Edit: OK.. there is a folder in the contents folder of the update that is called 'global_cfg' and inside is a file called 'global_config.zip', where do i put that on the SD card?

It goes under content directory, like this:
    content/global_cfg
    content/map
    content/poi
    content/building
    content/voice
    content/lang
    content/speedcam
    ....

OK, i put it in the right contents folder then.
It booted up OK with original proggy but not new proggy.
So i went back to original proggy and put new contents/maps etc from new maps/contents download and when it loaded the blue screen a box popped up and said:

    Map Initialisation Error
Cannot open the available map files with your licence.

    Edit:
In the old licence folder is a device.nng and TDJ_AUSNZ10Q3.lic

In the new maps licence folder from download is also a device.nng and [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], NavOn_PNA_FEU@1008_(AND,_DEM,_3D,_PST)_.lic, NavOn_PNA_HU@1010_(NNG,_POI,_PremDEM...DLM,_PST)_.lic

Do i need to delete teh old licences and device.nng and replace them with the new ones?

For .lic files no, you can put as many as you want and proggy should find what it needs. For .nng file, maybe. I don't recall needing it for cracked proggy, but an uncracked one might.

    OK,
    I have hit a dead-end.
I might try and get the new proggy working without the maps etc for starters

I hope it's just your typos, but the directory is content not contents and map not maps

    Yeah just typo's.
    Only the original works.
The new proggy won't and the new maps in the old proggy won't work either.
I think it's those .nng files are the issue. Like the unit is locked and only accepts the old SD

Keep searching and trying different versions (make sure it supports your resolution) It's odd that cracked proggy doesn't run on your unit. When you boot with new proggy, it just locked up? Anything printed on screen or crash.txt/log dump?
I found tons of info on your unit at [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

When i press the Navi button, it starts the blue screen to initialize and then stops and jumps back to the menu.
No errors, just rejects the SD card.
