Default After Honda WhereIs DVD that has NZ maps?

Im in NZ and bought an honda accord euro and it has an old Australian only whereIs dvd which is not particularly useful to me, don't suppose anyone with the Aus & NZ maps, wants to burn an iso of their copy or know where to find it.....i see there is one website selling Honda Navigation Disc Australia & NZ V21 2015 for $350 which is a bit steep!

Like the response in Noobies post [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] i tried the MMCS Mitsubishi Australia V20 just for fun and it doesnt install, the file names are very different

G'day kside, welcome to GPS Power. How's about you upload an ISO of your current disc and we'll compare to see if it looks compatible with anything currently on hand. Let us know what version it is too and any other info you have.

Hi Neil, thanks for your reply, it is the honda whereIS v18 australia disc. Interesting thing is that a newer version had been installed in my car, but the owner/dealer when selling must of kept it and replaced the old original, as to get this older version no longer even worked with error of being outdated, to get it going i had to re-download it via the GPS unit hidden settings (you hold down 3 different buttons on the navigation system to access). I copied the iso to computer and funny thing i did notice there is a NZ folder on the disk, so i copied out the files from within the NZ folder and replaced the files on the main directory, and burnt a disc of this and installed in my car, this almost worked in that it said where i was, but no NZ map just the OZ pic . Rather than upload the disc which would take me ages to do i have taken a screen shots of the iso and the disc itself so you can see the version. I can take more pics of other folders if necessary

Ah no, sorry no need for more screenshots. It's nothing like the VDO Dayton/Denso MMC/Subaru C2 or Toyota/Lexus C1 DVDs at all so i can't help you. This is V18 C2, but C1 is very similar:

I hope someone posts a new compatible version for you. If you do find it elsewhere please let us know, others here would be looking for it too i reckon.

    Hi kside and Neil,

I realise this thread is a bit old, but I thought I'd add some more useful information.

For the Honda Accord Euro there are actually two types of Navigation head unit. One was made by Mitsubishi, and the other was made by Alpine.

The DVD with .KWI files is for a Mitsubishi unit, and the DVD with .BAS files is for an Alpine unit. They are totally different from each other.

My understanding is that the CL9.II Accord Euro model from 2005-2008 has the Mitsubishi unit, and the 2008- models (CU2) switched to the Alpine unit.

For kside: You need a DVD for the CU2 (Alpine).

    Default Honda Nav DVD

    Hi Neil,

I've been trying to update the DVD on my own Accord Euro CL9 (still using V13).

Although the contents look like C1 or C2, it seems they are not compatible. I have attached a screenshot of the contents of V13 (Honda CL9, Mitsubish unit) if it's of any interest.

I think the 'Mitsubishi' unit for Honda would really be Denso sourced but uses different firmware to the usual C2 units. Short answer: Nothing posted in GPS Power quite matches what you've got in the ss above, sorry.

Thanks anyway, I agree that the units are probably Denso devices. The use of .KWI files suggests that I suppose. But unfortunately Honda decided to be different.. :-\
