To be clear: I updated to version v1.1.10402 (not a beta) like mentioned higher. The program still asks me to update the maps.
So far I have the very same issues as in the previous posts.
In the end, after a long taking download (only 4 countries I need minimal for now), the program asks me to update the maps while for whatever reason the newest maps i just before updated on my phone are release v8.30.61.107, the old one

I think I give up on the HERE app completely.

Edit: I made one last attempt and now all has gone flawlessly. I have now 8.30.62.102 maps, yet I don't know why the update did not succeed so many times before and suddenly it did, almost by itself. Nothing I did do different .

Technology can be very strange at times and for no apparent reason. Bottom line: you got it working.

I can only think of 3 reasons for the repeated failure.
    1) wifi - yet wifi, other apps and my PC did interact normally, never the less HERE complained (I think, don't remember the exact message, anyways "trying to download" or similar was displayed for a long time and download itself took long time and was interrupted several times)
    2) I have my maps on SD, space problem (still 5 GB left) or defective SD? Yet HERE complained about not having enough space
    3) another app -but which one? - being contra-productive

Another bad experience to add to my complaints.

I have (had) loaded the full Benelux and wanted to add Germany, France and Spain for the holidays. After a while - it took a long time, again - I noticed the app had stopped. Restarting did not help until I cleaned cache. After restart a new attempt to download ended in a failure.
To be clear, there was a ongoing progress bar before but in the end no finished map and the app was closed.
So I choose the maps one by one in case that was the problem (Germany and France are both +1GB) and started over again.
That worked! I checked the maps and Germany, France and Spain were there, but my basic maps were gone.

    Another addition.

My Samsung died, I bought me a Motorola with Android 6. I installed HERE and that went well. Untill ... it came to a map update today. After a while (half an hour or so?) the update was at 77% and I decided to do something else. That way I forgot about the update. Some more than 3 hours later I remembered I had an update running that must have been ready. So I checked and discovered it was still att 77%. I installed an app to test my wifi did work as should, I used my browser, all worked well and fast. HERE was stuck. On 77%
Now it's 2 hours later and HERE is trying to sleep over night, I guess. It's updating for approximately six hours now. The progress is ..., yep, 77%
