    Default HERE navigation beta

Here for Android is available for testing:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

While not a Garmin product, it can be a direct competition, using the same maps and providing similar functions: navigation, traffic, public transports. All free.

See: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Does this mean map data from same provider or you can actually open garmins .img files?

HERE is providing maps for Garmin but there is no compatibility between programs.

Tested this app today on Galaxy S3 and really enjoyed using it. It reminds me of Garmin Viago. The routing was very good during test, better than Garmin Streetpilot, Viago and Nuvi 1300. The fact that currently it's totally free is unbelievable. The Hi Def voice was pleasant to my ears.

    Definitely a keeper.

Nokia maps on my Symbian was always perfect! But Nuvi is Garmin!

It is pity that after Nuvi 765 the famous Garmin was died If we are lucky and ours Garmin 660, 200-250, 205-265 and 710-765 died too - maybe I will use only Here but I have a doubt about these devices And Symbian devices too I must to drown these kittens but I do not see any reason to sell my soul...
Garmin, how much is 30 pieces of silver for Judas today? Were they worthy for crucifix of GPSPower?

Not bad for a free navigation-app.

Latest Here maps, voice guidance is OK, only no dutch Hi def voice.
Day and night skin look good, but I prefer the colours for the night skin more dark.
Information on screen looks OK. If you like you can adjust it to your own prefers.

So,like I said, totally not bad for a free app.

And you don't have this problem with other navigation system using HERE maps? (Garmin, Navigon)

My brother in law was on google maps and my Car Headunit was on Mapmymindia maps, at tthat time MMI was navigating correctly, it did not lead us to narrow lanes or roads, but it also failed from Chikamagaluru to Chitradura it navigated via unpaved roads even after selecting in settings to exclude unpaved roads. The drive from Chikmagaluru to Chitradurga was worst very bad roads, I should have taken another road via Badravati.
