Thanks for the reply. Do you know how current the maps are/could be?

    Thanks,

GMPC uses the same *.img format as all Garmin portable units so all current maps can be used in your GarminMobilePC root folder. There is a proviso that only img files under 2 GiB will be recognised [maximum size of 2,147,483,647 bytes] so you'll be unable to fit all of EU in one file, but you can do it in 2 [or even use 3 if you want] because the current full EU map is only 3,556,638,720 bytes and GMPC can recognise multiple detail map names, see here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. You must have a basemap, get one from the Index: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Use the PC Install version of the non-unicode detail map to make your map images or download ready compiled img files under 2 GiB from here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. [Don't use the unicode version which is posted in a separate thread]. You can use 'Microsoft Anna' for TTS in GMPC under Win 7 too if you want.

Thanks for the reply Neil .

I only need the UK map so should be ok for file size. I'll take a look this evening.

    Cheers,
    Dave

    Good evening,

I'm 'back on the case' for my Car PC sat nav solution. Any fresh advice would be most welcome.

I'm current using Sygic FLEET with 2011 maps on Windows 7.

    Thanks again
