Default Windows CE platform. What software for my car SatNav?

    Hi,

I am thinking about buying a generic car satnav system.

It uses the Windows CE platform and does not come with any GPS software.

I have only ever used the Garmin software from here for my 3790.

What software will run on the windows CE Platform?

I know PolNav will, but are there others, or could I use the Garmin software?

    Thanks

No one watches these sites. I have been looking for an active one for months because my KUDOS system came without a manual. The sites are started and then they just sit.

If it's Chinese 2-din system, than there shouldn't be any problem. These are on Wince 5.0 or 6.0 and you can install every wince compatible navigation app on it. My advise is that you install iGO primo it's much better than Sygic as it's more accurate and more flexible regarding settings and adaptation..also, there is no activation struggling involved. But first of all you should make some screenshots of your current SD card as we need to see default files/folder structure. If we are talking about "classic" no-name Chinese 2-din than most probably the entire iGO app+content is on the SD card and in that case installation is a slam dunk ..If not, than it's the opposite and we have a problem..

It will work and work very well with latest CN NT maps but only if you keep each image just under 2GiB to satisfy the FAT32 file size limit [i.e. 2,147,483,648 less at least 1 byte, so 2,147,483,647 bytes maximum]. You can make a couple of separate detail maps from a PC Install using MapInstall for large mapping areas such as whole of EU or all NA which well exceed the limit as a single img file. In spite of its age, GMXT works very well and is stable on WinCE. Some links: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].
