    The correct firmware is this:
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
nuvi 54 is a re-badged 52 [HWID 1613] not a re-badged 50 [HWID 1350]. Right clicking on the above page and selecting 'View Source' or similar from the context menu opens a new window with this in it:
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
Use that to make your cure fw and it will load ok.

    Thanks to Smokefree,

Used this tutorial to unbrick nuvi 2460. Took several tries and various .gcd files until one worked. Computer recognized nuvi, I formatted and downloaded new files.

    Great site.

Thank you for your kind words. Much appreciated!

    Hi,

first, thanks are in order for the making of this tutorial.

I managed to follow everything up until the "installation" of the cure on the device. I have a Garmin nuvi 1350 that is stuck in a boot loop. I am at the step where you connect it to the computer, the updater software recognizes it but when i click ok, i get the message in the attached picture.

Does anybody know what i am doing wrong ?

    Thanks

Bootlooping units can be tricky to hold in preboot mode. That message means that it's exited preboot, so timing is crucial and that means a bit of luck and a lot of perseverance comes into play. You need to start the flash at the right moment so you may need dozens of attempts, usually best results are achieved by hitting 'OK' or the Enter key immediately you see the unit details appear in Updater.exe's GUI and keeping firm steady pressure on the upper LH cnr of the screen until at least 'Loader' appears on the screen.. Keep trying, if you can see the logo you can achieve flashing in preboot eventually.

Note that there are two HWIDs for 13x0 devices, 0972 and 1104 [MTK chip version] so be sure you have made the cure from the correct fw for yours.

I have followed the steps from the Document to the letter, but I get stuck on this message:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Has anyone seen this? I'd like to know how to get past this message. Thanks.

Hi, I have a garmin nuvi 2599 LMT-D . At first it was freezing regularly. I tried to update it using garmin express and towards the end of the update it said update failed. After that it kept looping on garmin logo, when on battery and just froze on the garmin logo when attached to the computer. Upon googling a bit i learnt how to get it into mass storage mode and it showed up as a drive on my computer. At some point i could browse around in the unit and it said maps locked and maps corrupt. Now i am unable to get it into mass storage mode. Does anyone have clue what is wrong with my device? and can i fix it or is it a paperweight.
    cheers

You have a corrupt file or files inside your nuvi.
Remove memory card if you have.
    Follow this thread from post#1.
