    Copy the unlock key generated by JM and paste into Notepad, no spaces or blanks at start or end etc. Select file, select save as, Save As Type: 'All Files' NOT 'txt', name file the same as map img, but with .unl extension. Read more here on unlocking using Jetmouse: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Place both *.unl & *.img files together is the same directory of unit or preferably sd.

    Renaming *.map & *.unl files in Win7 is no different to any other file name change: Either right click the file and select 'Rename', or slow double left click it.

    Is that what you're asking?

    @huaw
    Are you making a general comment, or answering XANDOR FERENCZI? His questions relate to Nuvi 1490. The reference to W7 in his Post #60 is regarding file renaming using a PC running Win7 i think. That's what i get from reading the thread from [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] anyway.

    Default can i return to previus version map after update?

    hi
    now I have the version City Navigator Europe 2012.40 with Europe Cityxplorer.
    1. If I update to version to 2013.10 the Cityxlorer 2012.40 will work full? or only pedestrian?
    2. If I update to version to 2013.10 and If I make back-up the 2012.40 version it will be possible to return to this version (by copying the files back?) with full working Cityxplorer?
    thanks
    costas

    If you use the CN2013.10 with the small CX2012.40 there may be conflicts. You should match the versions. There is no need to use as you are suggesting anyway, you can use the full [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] independent of the CN2013.10, or just wait for the small CX2013.10.

    How is the .unl file created? I have already downloaded the jetmouse kg and created an unlock code for my unit but I don't understand how to create the .unl file.

    Also, in your instructions you state to use pid2 but in the same instructions you say to use "unlock them create an .unl file with JM kg and FID 800- The PID needed are 1, 0, 0" So I am confused. Which do I use? PID 2 or 1?
