The one I have seems to be problematic. Would be nice if there is a workable pair of HK map/JCV for testing here. Any hint? Thanks.

    Thanks dvazg for the link.

So far I have tried three sets of map/JCV with results as follow:

    Australia/NZ 2011.30 : OK!
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Hong kong Macau 2010.30 : crash
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    Singapore / Malaysia 2010.40 : crash
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

So it looks really weird to me. I can't figure out where did I go wrong.

That is very interesting, it seems that HL and Sg maps need different firmware in order to work properly.
If you live in that region, it would be very helpful if you find a local unit that supports JCV (such as 1460Sing/Mal or 1355 CH) and check the inventory. Then share with us number next to "splash" item and device model.

Here you can find a new RGN file. It is made for 13xx units, SW version 490 with original Chinese Splash screen from 1355 (splash 1340-65).
Try flashing your device with this file (instructions from the first post), it will change your splash screen to version 1340-65. I hope this yould be compatible with HK JCV for your device.
If it doesn't work, you can flash it back to previous version (splash 1340-50) which works with EU and Australian maps.
Please note, this RGN file is ONLY for 13xx untis, SWV 4.90!

    Hi dvazg,

Thanks again for your help. I just flashed my nuvi to 1340-65 with your RGN file. I have also done a hard reset on it. Unfortunately the same behavior as before is observed.
One thing I notice though. Of the three map/JCV pairs I tried, the only successful pair (Aus/NZ) has the map UNLOCKED itself. The other two maps are LOCKED, and become unlocked by the supplying a corresponding unlock file (.unl) I am not sure if this really matters, but it is the only 'difference' I can observe at the moment.
Ah... this nuvi is driving me nuts....

In that case. why don't you unlock the map itself and try again... although I am not sure that that would affect JCV...
BTW, while you were in 1340-65 splash, how did the AU/NZ JCV behave? Were you able to see JCV images? Is lane assist working?

Obviously, I'll try that. As a newbie, I didn't even know there is such an easy 'unlocker' for maps, so your help has saved me some good hours of reading and experimenting, my sincere thanks to you.
For the Aus/NZ map, the JCV really functions perfectly. I could see all the junction pictures (wherever available) without fail. Will try out things tomorrow.

    Edit:

I unlocked all the maps but this does not help.

I also downloaded the EU 2011.32 maps with JCV. Like the Aus/NZ pair, they work fine in my nuvi. Could that be a regional problem or what. Actually I bought my nuvi in the US but use it in Asia. With the help of dvazg I flashed the RGN to 1340-65 which should have addressed the problem, but no luck here.

Well, there seems to be catch, preventing US/EU from properly showing asian maps. I've run out of ides how to make them work on your unit. Maybe flashing the unit to a asian firmware would help... but I'm not really experienced with this.... try browsing other posts for more information about that.

    Hello guys,

Can someone explain how to find the possible logo SKU's in the nuvi 13xx/14xx firmware?

    Cheers,
