Try the SD pack first with a different card if you have one by then.

There is probably nothing wrong with the card in that it'll work ok for other purposes or indeed even work in other Garmin devices. I used a specific Sandisk 2GB microSD for nonvol backups across various multiple units for some time without any problems. When used in a particular 265W it did absolutely nothing despite having worked in several other 2x5/W and a whole range of models before. A 'no brand' card worked with the same SD adapter in that fussy 265W however as did another Sandisk. As you've found with your 1340, it always pays to try a different card.

Keep the nonvol backup you've got when you did the SD flash, it could revive your unit in the future.

How can you tell if this hack has already been applied?

I just found a used nuvi1350 and had to buy it. The model number on the bottom does NOT end in the "T" for traffic, and yet this gps clearly has traffic enabled and it came the power adaptor with the traffic antenna.

My dilema is i want to try updating the firmware but i'm not sure i'll lose traffic or not by flashing a stock garmin firmware to the device. The reason i want to do this is because the battery icon disappears when it's on the charger, and comes back when you unplug it. I wanted to see if flashing would make the battery icon stay visible. several google searches just found posts where others saw the same behavior.

    thanks.

AFAIK, 1350 was sold in 3 'flavours' only in NA. 1350, 1350T and 1350LMT. The 'T' indicates only that there was an FM TMC Traffic receiver packaged in the box. 'LM' of course additionally indicates Lifetime Maps. Also both 1350 and 1350T showed only '1350' on the device itself but latter had '1350T' on the box. Regardless, if you add any compatible traffic receiver to a 1xxx it can receive traffic messages.
    Code:

As to knowing if the senior logo has already been flashed to it, the ability to display Junction Views as the only additional feature that can be added to a 1350 defines that. Your post wording makes me think that you're concerned this is a firmware mod or update, it's not. Only the senior models' logo is flashed to region 16, firmware [unit software] is untouched.

In latest fw version 6.30, the battery icon disappears when charging. There's no firmware version which removes the traffic function ability from 1xxx.

You can also add routes to the 1350 which does use a firmware mod: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

The unit is the same for all letters. Difference is only for box content (include traffic receiver) and subscription on traffic and map (bounded to unit ID).
