Secret Startup Commands and hidden menus in Garmin devices

There are several undocumented commands available,on Garmin handheld receivers , users call them hidden menus or easter eggs-
Note that many of these features are not documented by Garmin for a reason. They are generally for testing the device and are not intended for end users. The modes are not supported by Garmin and may cause you to lose data in your machines. Try this at your own risk!

I've collected on the internet some examples of these hidden menus (thanks naviboard.de-garniak.pl-naviuser.de and many others) you can test them and check if they'r correct (may be translations are not proper), posting in this thread your discovers. we'll update our list-

You'll enter a debug test mode that will give internal data and test screens, including a hard button test screen. To access these test screens, press any of the two hard buttons while in debug mode.

diagnostic screen :Another diagnostic mode is available through the Trip Computer Tool. First select Others->Trip Computer->Options->Recreational Mode. On the Rock'n Roller hit up, right, down and left quickly. You'll end up in a diagnostic screen that shows the most recent Shutdown reasons. Options->Show Stacks shows some memory usage, probably of tasks running on the Colorado. There is some information on the memory heap near the bottom of the screen. Options->Go To Test Page will get you to the power on diagnostic screen above
    Master reset:
    1. Power the unit OFF
    2. Hold down the two Soft Keys for 2 seconds

This form of reset does not seem to reset all of the settings to factory defaults, just a few of the basics like Time Zone and Language, the remainder of the settings are still taken from your existing profile files.
Once you have completed a reset remember to place the Colorado outside in a stationary position for 20 minutes in plain view of the sky so that it can rebuild the almanac before using it again.
Note: Holding down both soft keys and the select button in a similar fashion seems to do a similar reset to the Colorado. This may be a master reset that will also reset the profiles back to the default
Screenshot: Press and hold the right soft key for about 5 seconds when you are viewing a screen that you would like to capture. If you have tones enabled you will hear a confirmation beep when the capture has completed.

I remember there was one more diagnostic menu for Oregon. It was on the trip computer page. Hold the icon in the lower right corner of the screen for 10-15sec.

    Cheers,

thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this info on the garmin/nuvi.

why does garmin hide this important info.

i have found this info nowhere else.

btw - if the unit is connected to external power, the battery level icon does not appear, but you can still press/hold that spot (upper right/center) and see system info.

now if i could just interpret/decode all the info i'm seeing...
