That makes sense. I wonder if his was an OEM unit, or an aftermarket ?

The only reason I got the Factory Nav was because it's part of the fantastic Bluetooth system in the car.

But with most of the Factory Nav system, you can't add POI's like Red Light cameras or speed zones etc.....

My system only has the DVD slot. No Card slots or usb connections. That would give it more potential to modifiy files and "customize" the unit.

Sounds very like the VDO Dayton / Denso unit in my AU Subaru, basic satnav integrated with BT and a radio/dvd unit. No TTS, not able to add custom POIs. We're a tad OT here talking about this here though, so have a look at this [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and see if the units sound like yours, they're probably fitted to JN cars in the States too.. Maybe have a look if there's a Honda thread in Car Nav forum too: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Good luck.

Have you been able to load maps updates to your Honda OEM/Factory Nav system ? I have a Civic with Factory Nav and I have found two problems.

1.) DVD's are "Stamped" discs and not burned in the regular way.
2.) Cannot locate maps updates anywhere online.

So I've been stuck paying the $100-150 to buy a map update DVD.

    Thanks
Hello timp4411. Like Neil mentions, the unit that came with my Honda is different from yours. I bought it brand new at Honda, and it is the unit that comes factory installed with the navigation option. It also has bluetooth handsfreee-audio, DVD, USB, etc, but it has an SD card that holds all of the garmin maps information, which is where I was able to copy new maps and then the unit would recognize them. I really don't know what would need to be done to have the maps in your unit updated, sorry.

    Good luck !!

What is it you tried with the 755T that didn't work ???

If you are trying to get the SD card SN on a 755T it's very simple.

    1. Insert SD card (or microSD in an SD adapter)
    2. Boot the 755
    3. Hold battery ICon for ablut 8-10 sec to get to hidden screens
    4. On the bottom of the hidden screen Hit NEXT 2 times and you'ls be at the "Data Card Test Page"
    3. Serial number is on the upper let hand corner

This kind of user posts just to get 10 posts, ten useless posts which dont change anything in unlocking links.
Your instructions are the same than ones in starting post.

Not weird... 6 digits is perfectly fine for an SD or microSD, in fact it's quite common.

The number reported by your nuvi is correct and all that matters and guaranteed to work.

The only thing I've seen consistent at 10 digits is the ID of a GPS or FM receiver (GTMxx)
