Default Problem with a Garmin nüvi 2445LM GPS ! Destroyed bootloader?!

    Hello,

I have a problem with a Garmin nüvi 2445LM GPS. GPS was destroyed by firmware update! GPS can be turned on. Garmin logo appears on the display. See pictures (1.jpg, 2.jpg, 3.jpg, 4.jpg). No hardware reset feasible. USB interface can not be recognized on Windows 7.

GarminCure3 program was installed on the PC. Converting the file "nuvi 24x5 and 25x5 GCDFile__630.gcd" in rgn file. See picture 5.jpg

Update was possible on Pre Boot mode. GPS will be recognized on the PC. Garmin Express now automatically detects the GPS. The update is performed via Garmin Express! After the copy you will be prompted the device from USB port to remove.

The GPS should be turned on! Now only the GARMIN logo appears. The screen is dimmed. Garmin logo remains on the screen. It only appears that Garmin LOGO! Have now also access the internal Garmin drive. Garmin navigation has on the drive no data! OMG ! :-(

What else can I try, that GPS start correctly ?

Please help me ! Thank you !

    Bye Sven

Did you use GarminCure , just after a good formatting using RMPrepUSB?

Did you split on "original" doin' the firmware upgrade ?

There are no data on the navigation unit! :-( I have no backup file!

An update is performed with the program GarminCure3 ! This is not logical! Get no error message during the update. :-(

After cure flash original firmware, create a Garmin folder in nuvi root, restart and run Garmin Express.

    Hello "catymag",

thank you for your support. The navigation device works again. THANK YOU !

I must only install the German language file. Unfortunately, the device memory is full. I have no 35 MB ! Can I copy on micro SD card that map material easily ?

    I wish a nice weekend.

    best regards,
    Sven

    Read this thread:

You can move to sd most of the files to free int. memory.
Alternatively you can look at your garmindevice.xml in nuvi Garmin folder.
Files paths are listed in it.
