Hi all. Just flashed my zumo 590. Everything went smooth. But there is no option: display > orientation > vertical or horizontal. It disappeared… Any ideas please ?

Right, it seems that this function has disappeared
    Don't know why.

It seems that the conversion 590>595 is not complete. Options presently:
    1. Live with it.
    2. Convert back to 590.

Or, hopefully, one of our software experts can find the reasons for shortcomings and make a software patch.

Yea, I can live with that
I did "hybrid" flashing. Boot loader from 590 into firmware from 595.
Tested few days and found only one profit. On the upper bar can see earlier speed limit ahead. Sure it depends on maps etc…
With 590 firmware I used function "up ahead". Clearly showed me how many km's to the next gas station and so on. With 595 firmware "up ahead" offers not only distance, but name of gas station. Which means distance is showed by very small digits. It is not usable on a motorcycle…
    But at least I tried

No, don't do it even tho' it seems theoretically possible only comparing PCB P/Ns. Read this thread which was actually split off from here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Without serious modification to the firmware it can't work. 395 has region 127 [7F] populated and 390 doesn't. That is itself isn't the end problem, it's that 390 has GIR in region 14 [0E] 'fw_all.bin' whereas 395 has it in region 127 [7F] 'fw1_resources.bin'. Read kunix's explanation in Post #9 of the other thread to understand fully.

Hi, thanks for this nice tutorial!
I make hybrid firmware 590/595. After a few days of testing, I found another little bug - in Traffic alerts. Traffic texts (traffic delays, road is closed, ...) are in the correct language (i tried CZ, DE), but the audio description is english (reading in czech or germany voice). Others audio descriptions and navigation instructions are in correct language, only traffic not.
Can somebody confirm this? I can live with it, I am only curious :-) . Thanks
    Sorry for my english ;-)

Found next problem. Sumo 590 (with hybrid 595 firmware), iPhone 6, Sena smh10 helmet intercom. After first turn on everything works ok. But, then stop for gas or whatever, Zumo turns off, and after on there is no audio transfer while phone calling. Have to restart bluetooth in ZUmo, then everything works properly again. Thats annoying...
