@Neil

Many thanks for your big interest.

For Basecamp

This is the warning window that shows Basecamp when is connected

lsDCP

As you can see in the next image, the device model is not detected, and the original map is not shown (is installed, viewed and working in the device)

1Ryh8

The problem exists even if I connect a sdcard in the device, but here the maps inside the sdcard can be viewed.

87ycI

But I can export my favourites normally in the device and the sdcard

I have reinstalled the usb drivers again but any improvement.

Other little thing that I discovered, the web updater software is always upgrading the 3.2 version when the device is turned off and on.

Not easy.

Try this: Connect your zumo in MSM and open the GarminDevice.xml in a txt editor. Change "
Zumo
" to "
Zumo 595
" and save. Don't disconnect from PC. Open BaseCamp and see if it's detected normally.

I tried what you said, but the problem remains the same.

Do you think it would be good to return to the 590 version to know that the problem is really the 595 version?

Regards

Gone back to the 590 3.3 version, Basecamp is working fine showing my zumo 590 device and is ID.
GarminDevice.xml is zumo 590

I dont know if the user Alois72 had the same problem...

@Alois72 can you say if you had same Basecamp issues as me?

The user Alois72 has confirmed that is having same problems than me to comunicate with Basecamp.

At this level I can confirm that:
- The upgrade from 590 to 595 is correct and the device woks fine.
- GarminDevice.xml shows only "zumo" instead of "zumo 595" in the device Description line
- Garmin Express works correctly except that is not finding the exact name (shows only zumo)
- Web Updater software wants to upgrade firmware to 3.2 every time when the device starts from power off
- And finally Basecamp doesn't find the device's name, showing a window error and disabling the view of the installed maps. But we can see the user data folder.

In short, there's a communication problem between this device and the computer but I dont know if is a hardware or software issue

This is my report as a user and would be nice if the expert users can help.

Thanks

Another zmo 590 with sw 3.30 and swedish locale is now fully converted to a zmo 595 with sw 3.20 using the instructions in this thread, sucessfully.

Was not able to have all text in Swedish although the text files was replaced from the backup. It appears that there are some new textlines that was not present in the zmo 590 is not covered in the old files.

How is it possible to retrive the proper language files for the zmo 595 with sw 3.20?

Same problem with Basecamp as user scoo reported.

Pre-Boot for zumo: it works in zumo 660, test in yours.

1. Turn off the navigator.
2. Press the LOWER left corner of the screen .
3. Turn on the navigator still holding the lower left corner of the screen + power button.

Other pre-boot mode option
Step 1: Push the battery icon in the upper right corner of the screen for about 10 seconds to get into the service menu
Step 2: Connect zumo to a PC via USB
