    From post n1 attached list:
    Model: Nuvi 26x9 | HWID: 1772 | SWVS: 780 | MAP: Yes | GMA: Yes | MSV: Yes | GSV: Yes | File: nuvi26x9_780.gcd

    That means: 177201000780.rgn
    But check HWID in garmindevice.xml in your nuvi Garmin folder.....and read again my post n.85

    @aissa
    The 'nonvol' region for your 2689 is indeed region 154 as it is also for related current units. However previously all modern auto devices used region 41 and i still tend to refer generically to nonvol backup as 'back-up of region 41' which clearly i need to stop doing. You advised earlier that your unit is the C4 model, hwid 1948 with version 7.80 fw so the rgn file needs be named 194801000780.rgn for safe flashing with Updater.exe.

    Thank you for your reply!
    I have done this, and the only thing that happens, is that its starts the calibration of the touch screen.

    It only stays in preboot for a VERY short time, some units only for ~10 seconds. So if it doesn't receive a flash in that time it goes to the white calibration screen and you have to go thru that and start again. Have the rgn file already open in Updater.exe before you start preboot, leave the GUI visible on your desktop with the radio button enabled to the left of 'USB Device' and your mouse cursor positioned over 'OK'. Put the Astro into preboot and quickly connect the usb watching Updater's GUI for the unit detail to appear in the window to the right of 'USB Device' [you may also hear the Windows device connection tone]. IMMEDIATELY then click 'OK' or just hit Enter on your kb and continue to hold the Astro's power button until the process finishes.
