    @babj615

You do not need a pre-boot mode to reflash your Oregon 7xx (no GVS).

Ensure device is fully OFF, not just in standby. Extract the RAR file below directly to the root of a CLEAN microSD, insert card to device and power on [connect to a power source if battery isn't fully charged]. Wait for the flash to fully finish and the device to boot itself then remove the card.

In the root of the card will be a new file 'BUP_154.bin' which is your 'nonvol' backup. Keep it somewhere safe for the life of your device.

Version 8.50 is very new having only been released several days ago. Please report back the results if you decide to use the flash pack.

WARNING TO OTHER USERS: This pack is for C4 version HWID 2077 of 24x7/8 and 25x7/8 devices ONLY [aka 2xx7, 2xx8]. Do not modify it for use in other devices unless you know exactly what you're doing as you can very easily HARD-BRICK your device using a wrong BIN or HWID.
I can confirm that this works 100% on Nuvi 240 LMT with HWID 2077.

    Thank you a lot

That's a typo of course i guess (nuvi 240 LMT). Your unit is a nuvi 2597 as shown in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]'s Updater.exe GUI screenshot.

    Thanks for reporting back.

Hello everybody. I got a brand new Garmin Nuvi 2659 LM and unfortunately it has 2017.10 Forsquare and 2017.10 Southern Europe. I would like to have Full Europe. I am beginner in Garmin domain, but I have replaced (after a successful backup of the map) the gmapprom.img with the Unlocked One (tried NT and NTU as well) and the device says it is corrupt and it is not unlocked, although I have tried it on older devices and it was working well (I am talking about the 2017.10 NT Unlocked map version).
Can someone please help me to fix my device? I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance

Your device is fully protected :

    Model: Nuvi 26x9 | HWID: 1772 | SWVS: 780 | MAP: Yes | GMA: Yes | MSV: Yes | GSV: Yes | File: nuvi26x9_780.gcd

You'll have to carry out the whole patching process if you want to display unlocked CN Europe : read carefully post #1 and check HWID before making your .rgn file (HWID shoud be 1772, but check it).

    G'day asztalo
Welcome to GPS Power. We were all novices once and this kind of flashing is fairly advanced so there's no shame if it's difficult to understand. This should make it easier to patch any 26x9:

26x9 has 2 possible HWID's, 1772 and 1948 [C4 version]. C4 version devices are particularly difficult to flash in preboot mode with Update.exe so I've prepared an SD card kit which will patch both types. Your device will only flash from the folder name matching it's correct HWID. Please note that although all care is taken preparing this for other members' use but i haven't been able to test because i don't have access to either device so all risk is assumed by the user. Look behind the spoiler for info and file:

    Spoiler:
Check that there is no gupdate.gcd file in the device's .System folder, if present remove the GCD file before preceding.

Version 8.50 is a new version having only been released late last month. Please report back the results if you decide to use the flash pack.

WARNING TO OTHER USERS: This pack is for 26x9 devices ONLY. Do not modify it for use in other devices unless you know exactly what you're doing as you can very easily HARD-BRICK your device using a wrong BIN or HWID.

Well, technically we're both right i suppose. I didn't realize that Garmin had used the same HWID 2077 for the limited release 240 for Central EU as they have for C4 2xx7/8. Also i mixed you up with the other user i made the pack for. Thanks for clearing that up.

Successful first time, installing a working latest Thai map on a US nuvi 57 (HWID 2087).

Not mine, but it is going to cost the guy I installed it for, quite a few ice-cold Leo beers.
