Ok, a message additionally saying 'Maps are corrupt' is an indication that the firmware indeed has not been properly patched. Here's an SD pack for both 25x7 HWIDs [C4 2077 and 1582]. It will only flash the files for your unit's HWID.
    Spoiler: Show
When it's done you'll have a file in the root of the card named "BUK_154.bin". That's your unit's NV backup so keep it somewhere safe for the life of the device.
    Hello Neil and all
Still no luck. Do I do something wrong?:
My unit is 2597LMT HWID 2077
I have extracted your RAR file into formatted SD card, turned unit off, inserted SD card, restarted unit, loader shows up telling that new software being installed, then a message comes up that the software on the unit is newer than the software being installed and asks, if I want to proceed with installation (gives warninig that all user settings will be deleted), I click yes. Unit reboots after install, asks for location, I pick location. Get the SD card out check the update.log file:
nüvi 25x9 Software Version 8.30, UID: xxxxxxxxxx, HWID: xxxxxxxxxx (both numbers are the same as my unit ID number)
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Parsing "rrgn,154,2:/BUK_154.bin"
    Success
    Parsing "xrgn,14,2:/14.bin"
    Success
    Parsing "xrgn,127,2:/127.bin"
    Success
    Parsing "xrgn,158,2:/158.bin"
    Success
    Parsing "reboot"
File BUK_154.bin is in the root of the card.
Next, I insert SD card with folder Map on it with an unlocked by gimgunlock file gmapsupp.img (Europe 2017.10). Restart the device, message comes up: cannot unlock maps and then maps are corrupt, use GarminExpress.
Done it few times same result. It seems it works for other people, do I do something wrong?
Thank you again for your help!

It's the very first instruction in the procedure list of Post #1.
    1) Remove any gupdate.gcd in your device.
But it can't be said enough and i should have reminded ppl using SD packs that any existing gupdate.gcd file will simply flash back to original unpatched fw if it's not removed. Flashing from a patched gupdate.gcd for future updates won't be a problem for you now so you won't need preboot or a patched SD pack next time.

G'day miniexpeds, welcome to GPS Power. Do me a favour and make your second post in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

Your 64 can be fixed very easily using only a patched GUPDATE.GCD file. Read the first post again very carefully. You'll get more satisfaction doing it yourself.
