Hello Neil, Thanks for your reply, made the first post (that is, the second =)) how you have specified. I tried to use the command line as "FirmwarePatcher.ehe GUPDATE.GСD" tried so FirmwarePatcher.ehe / HELP, FirmwarePatcher.ehe /? but not a hint of use of the program through the command line = (this is why, and asked a question on the forum.

Don't try to complicate things unnecessarily is my best advice. The easy way is use the GUI [Graphical User Interface] because that's why it was made [to keep it simple]. Over [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] we have a user saying it's too complicated and yet in here you're wanting to make it even more complicated. Just use the tool provided seems the logical way to go. Btw, the 'h' key is quite a way from the 'x' key.

In this the whole point I want to simplify the task even more, the script will download the firmware, depending on the device, patch it and sew the device, you can certainly write so that would be the script itself pressed the button, but I would like that it was done more hidden.

And if the wrong firmware was downloaded then flashed to the device bricking it? Write the script if you like and post it, members can decide if they wish to use it.

If the wrong firmware is not sewn device itself (if one does not fix anything HWID) and the firmware will swing from the official website for HWID which is registered in GarminDevitse.hml. The scenario is as follows: the device is connected to your computer, run the program, it checks the HWID device shakes firmware based on it, patches it, and there are 2 options of either updater.exe launches and the user will need to enter the device in the preboot mode and press "OK" or GCD will be put where you want and when you turn on the instrument asks to reinstall the software (if there was the same version) or just sew (if standing below version)

Here is an example firmware request:
    http://www.garmin.com/support/WUSoftwareUpdate.jsp?req=<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no" ?><Requests xmlns="http://www.garmin.com/xmlschemas/UnitSoftwareUpdate/v3"><Request><PartNumber>006-B1541-00</PartNumber><TransferType>USB</TransferType><Region><RegionId>14</RegionId><Version><VersionMajor>1</VersionMajor><VersionMinor>0</VersionMinor><BuildType>Release</BuildType></Version></Region></Request></Requests>
Where is 1541 - a variable HWID. If the request is inserted in the browser, the tags <Location> </ Location> is a reference to the latest firmware (it is more convenient to look through the internet explorer)

I now understand exactly what you mean, sorry that i didn't follow your intent previously. However such an automated 'hands-off' process has been mooted before by our Software Experts but unfortunately wasn't proceeded with. You are a coder, that's clear, so please write the full script for use. Regarding what i referred to as 'risk': There's no risk at all with a gupdate.gcd containing a wrong firmware [differing HWID] because it'll be ignored by the device as you're aware. You'd also be aware of this, the risk is with an RGN file with either non-conventional naming [<any_name>.rgn] or correct naming for the device's HWID [<hwid>01000<swv>.rgn] but in either case containing a DIFFERENT firmware than for the actual device. Let's consider that such risk will be completely eliminated by the process being entirely dependent on the provided FIRMWARE's HWID and NOT the intended DEVICE's HWID. That way if the wrong fw, say V8.30, is somehow retrieved from the server, say for HWID 1234, but really intended for device HWID 1235, but then provided the RGN file is made with correct convention of 123401000830.rgn it cannot be flashed to the device with HWID of 1235.

Getting the required firmware is the relatively easy part provided the correct HWID is specified and there are various methods for that, here's a very simple one based on a generic GarminDevice.xml which downloads the GCD file via WebUpdater:
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
[Inserting within 'code' tags helps to display more clearly in a post]. The above based on Post #9 in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and will download the full fw for HWID 1541 from
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
and place it in the Garmin folder as "GUPDATE.GCD".

I see your request appears to be for transfer to region 14 [0x0E]. I'm not a programmer so if that's indeed the intent i'm unable to understand how writing only to the device's rgn14 can help in the process of patching the firmware. Could you clarify please?

    Hello, Neil.
I'm not an encoder, just a fan which is at work when nothing else to do so knead their brains and try to learn different languages, basic for me C ++ (but still very weak in it), but for the simple things began to use the AutoIt, I wanted it to write the script of the type:
Navigator is connected to a computer in Mass Storage mode, the program detects all removable drives (only those where there GarminDevice.xml) user selects the desired, then we analyze the xml of HWID on (of course if it is not, then notify the user of it) trying to drive it into the pattern that I mentioned above and to obtain a variable as a link from the tag <lacation>, download the file highlighted on this page and then me and needed a command line with which I have the program "FirmwarePatcher" patched firmware (because I don `t know principle work FirmwarePatcher I can`t repeat the algorithm of its work so I had to include it in my script), then it all depends on how to flash the device:
    a) If it through RGN RGNtool program can run from the command line, I would help her be remade obtained GCD (hwid0100swver.rgn + to alter the firmware version to 9.90 which would express when updating firmware cards are not rearranged) and launched "Updater.exe" (like he does not even have a clue where the device automatically stitched when it is connected to the preboot mode, commands can be viewed via HEX)
    b) if the GCD here only to alter the firmware version to 9.90 (for the same purpose that I have described above) and put it in the ".System", then if the firmware version is lower then the device will sew without prompting, and if the same, then when you turn on the device prompts to reinstall the software (in theory I think GCD can be put in the folder "Garmin \ Updater \ HWID" and there to rewrite the script, I think there is a possibility to sew the device directly from there - then it will be sewn force without the user's query - but I do it not tested)
That principle the whole script (of course if I have understood correctly when you are asked for a more detailed description)
    PS
I do not know much English so I did not understand your last question = (
