    Hello
    I will start using this method on the device (nuvi 2597LM). (LM Europe Only)
    Reason: I want to use other map.(gmapprom1.img)
    I wish I could be successful without problems.
    I'll start after 15 minutes
    I'll tell you what happened.

    I Stopped because I did not succeed in finding (HWID) for this device.

    You need to search for 2xx7 in the txt file from initial post. Also note that there's 2 HWIDs for US/EU versions: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Make sure you use the right firmware or you'll seriously risk bricking it as is warned in the thread linked by catymag.

    This firmware is for 2077 HWID, but is it ok for your device? Have you checked in nuvi?
    Why you dont read this? [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
    Read carefully starting post, or you are going to waste a lot of time posting and asking for stuffs already explained in OP and risking bad adventures, believe me

    @krok

    When you open GarminDevice.xml file (which is into Garmin folder on your GPS directory) with Notepad, there are plenty of different PartNumber.

    PartNumber corresponding to HWID is located on the first line for my Nüvi 68, just after <Model>

    <Model> <PartNumber>006-B2088-00</PartNumber>

    So for mu Nüvi68, HWID is 2088.

    If it can help you............

    An updated MAP_GMA_MSV_GVS_list of 4-12-2016 has been added to post#1.

    Note: It's not recommended to download this patcher from other sites, blogs or forums, we don't grant these leeched files are updated and clean. These files may brick your devices, use attached file in post#1 only.

    Hello there, please I want to flash a firmware to enable using an unlocked map but I'm having a problem entering preboot mode on a nuvi 2597. I've tried EVERYTHING there is to try but it just doesn't recognize the device and keeps on sending me to the calibration spot. Garmin Express recognizes the device so I guess I have Garmin drivers installed. Is there any other way to flash the firmware? Thank you as usual.
