    Hello,
I successfully patched my nuvi 2598, all works fine, thank you for the great tool!
Now I try the same with my GPSmap 64s. I understood that I only have to go from step 1 to 5. I did that and have a patched gupdate.gcd. The problem now is that I don't get the gupdate.gcd on the 64s. I'm using webupdater 256 and when I start the updater it is looking for updates, I don't see where I could bring the updater to take the gupdate.gcd. I tried to call the updater from the command line as well, but with no success. Do I have to use another webupdater?
    Thank you for your help!
    Best regards,
    Jörg

    @ zorronoeman

If what you you mean is "how to force Webupdater to use your patched gupdate.gcd", you don't start Webupdater.
Just connect your 64s, turn on wifi on your pc and drag and drop your patched gupdate.gcd file on Webupdater's shortcut on your desktop, it's called "forced update".
Webupdater will start, connect to the internet, look for webupdater's new version (there isn't one) and then will write your patched gupdate.gcd file on the 64s (Webupdater will not be searching the internet for 64s firmware).

Webupdater must be on your desktop, just drag&drop the file in its icon

    Hi,
I didn't realize that Webupdater must be on the desktop, now the transfer to the 64s seems to work. I can see the gupdate.gcd in the "Garmin" directory on the 64s. But when I restart the system I don't see any message like "loading" or "loader" as I see it with normal updates. After the start the gupdate.gcd is no longer in the "Garmin" directory, but nothing seems to happen. What am I doing wrong?
    Best regards,
    Jörg

    Hi
remove any gupdate.gcd file in 64 or in its sd,
try with this file, unpack and drag it in Webupdater or copy it in a sd/Garmin and insert the sd in 64 then restart 64.

    Hi catymag,
I've tried your file and dragged it on Webupdater ( no other gupdate.gcd on the device ). After the update Webupdater says "Version 4.20 installed". When I restart the 64 I still don't see any message regarding an update. Can it be that the update runs so quick that the message disappears immediately?
    Tank you for your help!

You can test a map usually locked with official firmware and you will know if the patched sw has been installed
