Hi Neil I checked again and I receive the message 'Can't unlock map. The map is corrupted, contact the seller'
It looks like I cannot install the fw in the GPS

When nuvi restarts after loading firmware with Updater, it flashes patched firmware then, if you haven't removed non patched gcd from nuvi, it reflashes it, so no patched firmware in nuvi.

    @M3ashi_Eltheeb
What don't you understand or have a problem with? We can't guess . US/EU Montana 680 fw has " MSV: Yes | GSV: --- " according to the FW_list.txt. So you should be able load via a patched GUPDATE.GCD even initially.

    Imean Montan680 Device .
I have no problem with All nuvi devices .

    2) Set it to Mass Storage. How to set nuvi 2012 models (MTP devices) to behave like USB disks (MASS STORAGE)

*** Inherently device does not need to open the process of storage *** No problem here .

    8) Download Updater.exe from here: Garmin Updater.exe v.2.8.0
Copy Updater.exe in a directory along your firmware.rgn, drag the .rgn in Updater.exe icon, Updater.exe will open, tick USB

*** I worked and how to contact with the UPDATE function Montana680 ***

    9) Clear Non Vol.Clear Nonvol

*** How to do this ***

    Thankin YOU . . .

    Hi,

You don't have to use .rgn file for your Montana 680 because it has no GSV protection : you just have to run steps 1 to 5 in post#1, then :
1- put the .gcd file corresponding to patched firmware into Montana Garmin folder.
2- disconnect properly Montana from PC.
3- Reboot Montana and patched firmware will be installed.
4- Then do a master reset ("clear non vol") :
    Code:
