    Hello,
I am new to this Forum and Garmin Devices.
I have Nuvi 2547 LMT with Western Europe Maps. Firmware version is 7.80
I want to put Eastern Europe map on SD card. I tried using unlocked images but I get "cannot unlock maps" error. Does this means my firmware has to be patched? Can some one guide me on how to do it? I searched the forum for HWID number for this device but could not find in any list.

    I appreciate your help.
    Best Regards
    Sid

Yes it needs to be patched.
    Probably is:
    Model: Nuvi 2xx7/2xx8 C4 | HWID: 2077 | SWVS: 780 | MAP: Yes | GMA: Yes | MSV: Yes | GSV: Yes | File: nuvi2xx7and2xx8C4_780.gcd
But you must look at your garmindevice.xml if it's the right one.

    Hello,
    Thank you for your post.

I checked the garmindevice.xml on my device. Below is the extract from the same.

    PartNumber>006-B2077-00</PartNumber>
    <SoftwareVersion>780</SoftwareVersion>
    <Description>nüvi 2547</Description>

Portion of the part number is B2077, does this mean HWID: 2077 ??

    Best Regards
    Sid

G'day Sid. Yup, it sure does. See here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], 2077 is singled out for special mention. Your INITIAL flash of patched fw needs be with an RGN file, subsequent updates may then be done with a GCD file.

About confirmation of HWID, look here too: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

Hi guys I have a Nuvi 2557, nuvi2xx7and2xx8C4_780.gcd download the file, perform all psos, but when I get to step 8, can not make the GPS remains in pre-boot mode. I do everything you say step 8, but get to the screen to calibrate.

I could help to make it pre-boot mode to GPS ???

    Thank you

If you reach the 'screen calibrate' it means that you've exeeded the unit's time tolerance to remain in preboot. Do this BEFORE you put the unit into preboot: Open Updater.exe by dragging the RGN file onto it. In the GUI that opens, enable the Radio Button to the left of 'USB Device'. Then put the unit into preboot: Have the device fully OFF [not in standby]. Plug the USB cable into a REAR port of your PC, hold the upper LH corner of the 2557's screen and then plug in the device. IMMEDIATELY you see the unit's detail appear in the window to the right of 'USB Device' in Updater's GUI, hit 'OK' and continue holding until 'Loader' or 'Software Loading' appears on the screen.

    Hello,
Thank you for the instructions, I have some questions, may be silly but I wanted be sure.
Can you take a look at below RED text and confirm that my interpretation is correct.

The following 2 steps to be done by connecting the device to PC and then disconnect the device from PC. Please confirm
    1) Remove any gupdate.gcd in your device.

    2) Set it to Mass Storage. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    ---------------------------

    3) Download the patcher (new version 1.10 updated on 25-12-15): OK Clear

The following steps to be done on PC without connecting the Device to PC -

    4) Copy the patcher in a directory along your firmware gupdate.gcd - This is file downloaded .gcd file not the one removed in step 1. should this downloaded file to renamed to gupdate.gcd??

    Remaining steps are clear.

    Thanks
    Best Regards
    Sid
