works on nuvi 1240
Can the ROUTES enabled #972 patch be applied to HWID=1193 firmware for a Nuvi 1250 SgMy?
I have a Nuvi 1250 SgMy that uses the HWID=1193 firmware version 2.80. Is there a possibility that I could apply the same 'patch' method you used in #972 to create a #1193 GUPDATE.GCD file ?

I successfully patched Nuvi 1300 (thanks a lot!) and now orange arrow sign Route is shown on Garmin device screen. Unfortunately, it's not working as it should. When I transfer routes created in Mapsource, I get the message that transfer is successful, but when I start Nuvi 1300, there are no transfered routes in "Route" section. I tried to add four waypoints to create routes manually and everything is shown correctly - start point (green flag), end point (black&white flag) in both original and reverse route. But, when I simulate driving using reverse route, the flags are shown correctly, but somehow it starts driving from end point?! I don't get it. Utterly unusable.
quick update: when I turned off/on Nuvi 1300, now it's simulating driving as it should...not mixing up start and end points anymore. Just curious why it doesn't recognize routes tranfered from Mapsource v 6.15.7?
Support for and development of MapSource has been ceased as of 2011. Maps published since have become increasingly more incompatible with MapSource. Use BaseCamp instead.

Smokefree, thanks a lot! I've been trying to avoid BaseCamp since MapSource provided everything I need, but obviously not anymore.
I have not used Basecamp much but have not noticed any irregularities using MapSource for either maps or routes.
The major problem with MapSource is if it's used in compiling map images to transfer to a device. BaseCamp itself doesn't do that, it simply invokes MI to do the job of compilation. The MS compiled map IMG can cause navigation routing errors when the route is calculated by the device because of the way MS compiles such IMG files from modern NT mapping data, which is quite different from the way MapInstall compiles them. MI and MS don't use the same algorithms to compile the IMG files and although there are no problems with MS using older PC installed mapping data it's best to use only MI for all image compilations. You can continue to use MS to do other functions on your PC but you may find things that you both like and dislike compared to using BC.
